Member Testimonials
Didn't get a chance to explore the whole facility, but my kids loved the pool. This Y has their favorite water slide!
Indoor walking track and help with using the equipment when you first join
Leslie the pool instructor on Monday and Wednesday at 6pm is AMAZING. She is the reason I come here. I have to drive 30 minutes and I pass like three other YMCAs to come to this one. The warm pool is amazing too.
I would say the men’s pool locker room could use some cleaning. Other than that I’m pleased with the facility and staff.

It is close to my home.
The staff is always friendly and helpful. The equipment is always well kept and the other members are thoughtful and consider it as well. There is a wide variety of classes and equipment to benefit from as well as the activities the YMCA conducts for its members out of appreciation.
Group fitness classes - love Whitney S and Dale H so very much. Also the other members in the group fitness classes are very welcoming. The regulars are so welcoming to the new people, and as newer people join the cycle continues (everyone is super nice )
Friendly employees, walking track and variety of work out equipment.
Clean facility, friendly and helpful staff.
Friendly staff, State of the Art facility, and love the location 🙂
The pool! I have back issues and the exercise programs really helps me.
I like that the location is so convenient for me. I like that the equipment is kept in good working order.
I do wish (for others that I see struggling) that there were people working there who were more interested in teaching others how to use the equipment than to continuously be cleaning the equipment.
Zumba and the staff
I like going to the YMCA, especially the Floyd County Y, because it has a lot of activities for people over 60. Besides working on the machines, they have a space, not a big one, but one where you can also doing walking or fast walking inside. I love it! Don't need to join a gym, when you have the Y.
Location and equipment
I LOVE the Louisville Downtown YMCA at 2nd and Chestnut. I’ll continue to go there as long as I’m able, and it’s open. It has everything- 7 floors of all kinds of weights and machines. Plenty of space for everyone.
I go to Floyd Co. YMCA when weather is bad or I’m in a rush. I live in Georgetown, IN, and it only takes 10 minutes to get to Y in New Albany, but probably 18 minutes to get to Louisville downtown Y, but it is so worth it
It would be great if whoever put together Floyd Co. Y would meet with members about its functionality, or lack thereof. There are maybe 12 treadmills total in the Y. Come January 1st, the Y will be packed, and cardio machines will be hard to come by. There is no set room for floor exercises- abs and such, just some corners members use. The weight setup is just off. Why not put all cardio on 2nd floor and all weights on 3rd? It’s too bad it’s so popular- and crowded. After covid, I still do not like members so close to me, working out. They could use a lot more space! I’m very glad it’s there. Maybe if they could reorganize the space they have, and get rid of things they don’t use.
Mostly, I use the pool for water aquatics. Occasionally, I use the bicycles and the elliptical upstairs.
As much as anything I love being with like-minded people

Friendly staff .. clean
