Very quick and friendly service
I brought my flat tire in to the shop and in 15 minutes was back on my way!
I stopped by with my 12 year old granddaughter a couple weeks ago to pick out a bigger bike as she has grown this winter. Debbie was wonderful, showing her the two bikes that most interested her, and offering her to take a ride on both. We bought a pretty blue Trek 820, and picked it up just 3 days later. I know it's tough right now with Covid-19, and that you're only open 2 hours a day, and I i appreciated the quick turnaround for the new bike. 3 days is like a month to a 12 year old! Thanks again!
In fact, I just finished writing a newspaper column about how happy we were with our decision to buy bikes from you. It should be published in the near future in the Daily Union.
See column below:
WATERTOWN - When we invested in the kids' new bikes last fall, there was some question about how much use they'd get.
With sports, clubs and drama every night of the week during the school year and activities filling up the weekends, our family had been experiencing trouble for the last several years just getting outside for a quick walk.
With very limited funds, we spent a lot of time weighing our decision to go with higher quality Trek bikes rather than an off-brand, off-the-rack choice from the local super-store.
But our son, who occasionally found time to ride around the block, told us that his big-box-bought bike wasn't holding up well at all.
And we valued the idea of shopping local and keeping those profits in the community, even if it meant paying more.
So we bit the bullet and paid several hundred dollars each for the kids' bikes.
Our 15-year-old, Rowan, who hadn't ridden at all since an accident on a brakeless borrowed bike as a youngster, received a new bike in a small adult size that should be able to serve for years to come.
Our younger child, Michael, 11 at the time, got a good-quality refurbished bike in the largest kids' size, with the idea he'd be doing a lot of growing in the next few years and we didn't want to spend as much on something he'd only be able to use temporarily.
Another plus about shopping at the local bike store (2 Rivers Bicycle and Outdoor) is that the professionals at the store were able to adjust both the bikes and helmets to fit just right.
In October, the new bikes got their first test during an extended ride on the Glacial Drumlin Trail just as the fall color started to peak.
Riding instead of walking meant they could cover so much more area, taking in the beautiful countryside and the wildlife that flourished in the woods and along the back of farm fields.
They came out of the experience flushed and grinning, ready to do it again.
Immediately, we were grateful we had made the purchase, even though we still weren't sure what kind of use the bikes would see, given the kids' incredibly packed schedules.
Flash forward a few months. Suddenly, the coronavirus pandemic and forced closures have entirely cleared the calendar.
Long days stretch ahead with nothing to look forward to but online assignments (the teachers do their very best, we recognize, but it's nothing like interacting in class or spending recesses and lunch breaks with friends).
And now instead of training with the track team or learning basketball fundamentals in the rest of their class, the kids have to make do with the space and equipment we have here for physical education, distance-learning style.
Thank goodness that equipment includes bikes.
This is one of the reasons P.E. has suddenly become one of our kids' favorite times of day.
No locker rooms, no changing, no embarrassment or hassle. No being hit with balls. No struggling to keep up in a game whose rules seem incomprehensible.
Just exploration, as fast and as far as you care to go.
They're safe with helmets and keep their distance from other bikers, walkers and runners. Traffic is minimal and thank goodness there are still some trails open in the area.
The first couple of days when we parents announced it was time for "gym," we got the predictable groaned response. Those complaints have evaporated, and now our kids eagerly sign on for physical activity.
Maybe someday, after this whole pandemic has lifted and life gets back to some semblance of normalcy, the bikes won't see as much use and will return to the shed - but I can't see us waiting so long to get them out again.
I've been a 2 Rivers customer since 2011 or 2013 the products have been outstanding. One can always get up to dated information on the products they're handling from the staff.
They stand behind every product they represent with a first class warranty.
Their customer service people are first class as well informative about the products and have always gone the extra mile to see that the customers is satisfied.

I feel that they give me honest answers to my questions about my bike and what is needed to keep it running at peak performance. It is nice to be able to walk into the shop and know that the guys are genuinely interested in providing exceptional service.
