Great swimming pool
A good gym that is versitile in all aspect of health and fitmess
I do recommend the Y on a weekly basis to anyone who references our devotion to working out. As we have aged we now have not only a need to be better to our bodies but also the free time to work out. The Towson Y is so new updated and filled with many options of body specific machines, activities and excellent staff to guide us as needed. The cleanliness of the building is exceptional . Thus making it ajoy to utilize at our confidence.
Everyone is so friendly and willing to help. The pool is incredible.
Very spacious, very friendly. Anytime I walk into the Y I feel welcomed and comfortable with the environment I’m surrounded by.
I do the water fitness and there are plenty of classes ranging from water arthritis to water Zumba.
There are also a lot of centers so I have a choice. Also like the notifications of any changes.
The staff is very friendly!!
The friendly environment and the update of the equipment and its maintenance.
I loved this location! It was clean, had all the amenities I wanted, and was usually pretty convenient for me to get to. I’m sad I have to leave Maryland and this YMCA.
Very diverse clientele and everyone of the staff is welcoming!
Very nice environment.
Facilities are clean and meticulously maintained.
Staff is knowledgeable and will to assist with concerns or questions regarding schedules,
Email and messages provide current location opening delays and closings.
So many good things happening, fine support from the staff, a great place to be
I love the numerous classes that are offered and the amount of equipment that’s available
Good members
Every thing is nice ..thanks a lot especially to stuff !
I like the community that the Y creates..but fix the TVs on the treadmills and the showers in the men's locker room don't all have hot water...
I love the community feel of the Towson Y.
The employees are so friendly. My kids look forward to swimming in the pool and having swim lessons every weekend!
No registration for classes required!!!! Drop in rocks.
The Activitrax app is also really good and motivating
i love the cycle classes. but i do miss michelle the instructor. where is she?!
Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere!
The Y has activities to keep the kids busy while I am working out!
Karen is an excellent teacher.
Classes, pool, facility, cycling trainers are great
Vibrant atmosphere and lots of easy options for exercise. I definitely need the sauna and used to use it often at Waverly Y. Here, unlike there, unfortunately, few people use towels to sit on, so there are often huge pools of sweat left on the seat after people leave. I still use the sauna for its benefits and people are friendly. I just find a dry spot and of course use my own towel.
The salt water in the pool, the availability of lanes, and unlike the Parkville Y, a reasonably warm shower. Also the sauna. People are helpful.
Very nice facility. A bit crowded but clean and very nice service offerings. Price is great for a family
I love the towson Y --- it's so clean and bright and seems more like an expensive gym than what someone would expect of a YMCA. The smoothie bar is great and my children love the pool. Ive been very happy with the childcare as well as the classes. I just have to go more often! My kids love the game room and I'm excited that my son is six now and can try the rock wall. My three year old did ballet lessons last month and my son did swimming lessons a few years back. Had great instructors both times.
What I don't love....
The water slide...My son has been begging to use it for three years now. I understand the importance of the swim test and unfortunately he still can swim the length of the big pool. He can swim though and has gone down water slides in the past. It would be great if a child could go down if a parent is waiting in the pool at the base of the slide, or even if they could use the swimmies/vest to do so. Not a big deal of course, just would be nice. : )
I drive 20 minutes to go to the Towson locations even though the Waverly one is only a few blocks from my house. The main reason is their childcare. The room is dark with fluorescent lighting and just pretty depressing all around. I only took my child once... she was still an infant . There was only one other child there and two staff members. Neither seemed very warm, one was eating fried chicken (greasy fingers) and the other one was missing many teeth (I realize how terrible that sounds! : ( ). That was over two years ago though so could be completely different. There was an excellent staff member at the Towson location, Shea, who I heard relocated to Waverly, so I may give it another chance .

its in the community
