Number of equipments and variety of classes
Love the water fitness classes.
Melissa sometimes fills in for one of the instructors. She is not qualified to teach the class and I recommend you not use her.
Friendly, supportive, and professional staff, clean and good amenities, feels like a well run place.
The cleanliness of the facility and warm professionalism of the staff
Friendly staff. Functional and clean equipment.
The variety of activities offered. Great workout facilities.
Great facility and atmosphere
It has been great so far! I love the convenience of having everything in one location and being able to bring my son while I work out!
The staff is helpful & friendly. I must give a "shout out" to the lady who cleans the ladies bathroom & the young gentleman who picks up debris in the parking lot. They are always working. My trainer Stacy & Jamal have been so important in my journey toward improved physical fitness. Each time I enter the facility, the person at the desk greets me with a cheery hello or good morning etc.
The kindness and warm welcome every staff members provides. Whenever you need something, you can expect help from a staff member.
Class was very good..both of them
From answering my questions over the phone to welcoming representatives at the front desk (especially Sara at Ellicott City MD location), I enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere and wasn't intimidated by gym experts but felt at ease with a group of individuals in the community who care about a healthy lifestyle.
I love the group classes, especially the 6 am ones! The instructors are all so awesome and inspiring! I have become healthier and stronger over these past six months of my new membership
My child currently attends camp Dancel in Ellicott City. Before attending he received a welcome card addressed to him in the mail that sparked his excitement for something new. This is his first year attending Y camp at this location without knowing any of the counselors. At first apprehension sat in for myself and my son but was soon eased once we arrived and I seen how organized the program was. Counselors are very helpful and informative, communication is top tier, and the best added bonus Kona Ice.
Big thank you to Mr. John Paul who is always available to answer any questions or concerns, also Ms. Autumn who always greets me with a smile at pickup and looks out for my son who misplaces his things daily.
I like it so far
Staff is friendly and helpful. Love Kelly’s water aerobics class. She always welcomes new people to her class. She exercises our body muscles and our mental muscles.
It's a warm and friendly place.
Very friendly place with helpful staff and lots of equipment. I do wish there more more of the popular exercise machines like the leg curl and leg lift. It would make more sense to have more of those than of the similar machines by two different brands such as the seated bench press and shoulder press machines.
The variety of sessions. Easy to get to from where I live.
I appreciate the design, equipping and ongoing operation of the fitness center. (1) One opportunity for improvement is to add a second True Palladium Series Pec Fly / Rear Delt machine. As you are likely to know already, at present there is but one such machine potentially accessible. Given the high demand for and relatively prolonged usage of this particular machine, there is often a bottleneck for access to it. Machine turnover is slowed when two or more members take occupancy of the machine for small group use, or an individual member opts to complete multiple sets using both the Pec Fly and the Rear Delt options. The required footprint space for the much needed second Pec Fly / Rear Delt machine is arrangeable between where the machines are located and where the free weights area begins. Another option is to substitute this additional machine for one or two of the 5 Expresso bikes, which appear to be used very infrequently, and seemingly never with more than 1 or 2 such bikes in use, if any, at any given point in time. (2) Another area for improvement is a straightforward one to address: Position the leg extension machine where the leg curl machine is currently located, while positioning the leg curl machine where the leg extension machine is currently located. Why? Because members who walk past the leg extension machine sometimes walk too close to or within the lift zone of the leg extension machine, thereby causing the user of the leg extension machine to suddenly halt the lift, which can be a cause of injury to the lifter, and sometimes to the passerby, too, if the lift is not truncated in time. Making this simple transposition of two machines that are presently side-by-side with decrease management's exposure to risk of liability for member injury. Thank you for being responsive to these two recommendations.
Friendly staff, plenty of activities, and great equipment!
Friendliness of the employees, wide variety of classes
Staff are very attentive and friendly.
The facility is wonderful, very up-to-date, clean and fun!
The facility is extremely well-equipped, the staff friendly and knowledgeable, the clientele divesre. We always feel welcome.
The facilities that I use are the main pool and the locker room. Both are excellent. The main pool staff is excellent. I know some of them by name. They encourage me to make the effort for a good workout.
It has everything for a family from young to old! Clean facility and friendly staff is added bonus.
The Y is always clean and the staff are helpful and professional.
Alot of things have changed, some good and others are very interesting. The dynamics, ethnicities, and cultures. Respect of each other is unfortunately not a requirement these days. It's not just the youth but the adults. I don't mostly blame the youth their being raised by parents with too many culture biases. I really enjoy the Y, it gave a inner city boy confidence, structure, and a safe haven when things got ruff. Now that I 65, a father of 6, who All have their Master degree, I can appreciate what lessons I learned at the Downtown Baltimore YMCA. As a culture, we still have a long way to go, but the Y is a great place to start.
Calm peaceful with fun rnployees
