I enjoy coming to the Y. I am usually there 5 days a week. I celebrated 10 years post operatively of having had RNY bypass weight loss surgery. The Y has helped me maintain my goal weight. Every time I come I am welcomed by the front desk receptionist warmly and often by name! Its like family. I highly recommend anyone who wants to improve their fitness to join the Y. I am 67 years old and my motto is "use it so you don't lose it !" I want to keep all the body parts given to me by God!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the staff at the YMCA Dancel Family Center. Every single person I’ve encountered has been kind, considerate, helpful and incredibly patient. As a single parent, finding a place where both my kids and I feel supported has been a game-changer.
The classes and provisions for the kids are amazing! They’ve given me the chance to actually focus on my own workouts, knowing my children are not only cared for but genuinely having fun and engaging in activities they enjoy. It’s such a relief to have that peace of mind.
The Parents’ Day/Night Out programs have been an absolute blessing, too. Having that time to reset, to take a breath and recharge from the everyday responsibilities of life, parenting, and adulting, has made such a positive difference for me and my family.
The YMCA Dancel truly has something for everyone, no matter your age, interest, or fitness level. If you’re considering a membership, I can say without hesitation that it’s worth every penny. The value you get in community, care, and quality far exceeds the cost.

I regularly attend Water Fitness instructed by Kelly Whites. She is a fun and engaging instructor. I also find the Y Dancel is well maintained and spacious with good locker rooms and private changing rooms. The employees are nice. There are a lot of amenities. Parking can be crowded and the EV charging spaces are never available, but I manage to find a regular parking spot every time.

Mostly, I visit the fitness center during the daytime. The lady who cleans the ladies' room seems to be busy cleaning. I see her frequently. The same is true for the young man who ensures the outside is clear of debris. The staff is very friendly. Each time I arrive, at least one person greets me. I've been with my trainer, Stacy, for a few years & find her to be very attentive to my stance, posture & the proper way to use the machines. If I come in alone, Jamal graciously helps me set the machine for my height.

Wonderful instructors especially Water Fitness & Aqua Zumba! Amazing camaraderie among the people who regularly attend the weekly sessions. The groups are also very welcoming to new members.
Everyone is so positive, even with some folks like me who "fall off the wagon" on occasion. I really appreciate being a member.

I would like to ask a change in the yoga class for Wednesdays 715pm. I think a Gentle Yoga class will be better. Current class is really easy and no many stretching like before when we had Huromi teacher. Thanks

I love the Warm Pool. The hours allow for everyone to enjoy it. I love that the lap lanes can be shared with water walkers and water exercisers. Thanks for making the Y the best place to stay healthy.

Joining the Dancel Y in Ellicott City was one of the best decisions I’ve made! I have found a host of opportunities to get healthier by staying active with classes, water fitness and a variety of equipment options. I love the positive and upbeat attitude of the staff members and their support. I also appreciate the opportunity for social interaction with others who participate.
