Member Testimonials
I’ve been a member for 15 years. I feel comfortable there. It’s expensive than most gyms though. Two things I would like to see change is ;
More women trainers for personal training
Fix the uneven pavement near handicap parking
Love the trainers! So patient and explain things so clearly. Glenn, Britney and LaVar are the best
The staff is so friendly you don’t find that in other facilities. It’s like a family.
I love the classes- both the exercise classes and the art classes. I enjoyed celebrating Black History a couple of years ago, the fashion show and all the fun activities.
Clean
Always friendly Employees
Great am classes(although getting more
and more crowded)

There is such a variety of programs that no matter what your age or fitness preference you can probably find it. The hours are good, the facility is clean. The cost is fair.
Feel welcoming and I love the facility, staff, members
Great classes and instructors. We love the availability to use all of the Tampa Metro YMCAs in the area and YMCAs around the state / country.
Courteous, professional staff; helpful; good group classes
Great classes
I’m very comfortable working out there. Clean, full of friendly and knowledgeable staff and they have a lot of programs to meet many people’s fitness needs.

You came through with flying colors
Very wonderful people.
Clean and friendly
Beautiful facility! Friendly staff.
Not overly crowded, employees are nice. Great equipment!! Plenty of parking.
I love my Y ( Bob Sierra) but I feel like the pool area is forgot unless you are a lap swimmer. Why is the water class ignored at Bob Sierra? We haven’t got new weights in years. Plus the black weights are falling apart.
Glenn is an amazing trainer. He really knows about and cares about what he is doing and seems to be one of the few trainers on the floor that know how to speak politely to people. I realize trainers are simply doing their jobs by policing people about their shoes, asking kids how old they are, etc., but some of them speak rather abrasively/bordering on rudely. As I tell my kids, there are kind/civil ways to say just about everything. Can these other trainers receive some kind of communication training? I'm sure they all know what they are doing when it comes to working out but they are in a public-facing position and should have better people skills/communication skills.
I can access numerous facilities across the country, the pool, all the classes and activities that are offered, a great environment, the equipment has been great, and I like the events the YMCA does periodically. It all creates an incredibly lively environment and a lot of positivity.
I do think the price is a bit high for me compared to everyone else (I'm 34 with a solo membership) and I am sad when it becomes difficult to acquire really nice things for events going on. There was a Lucky Ducky event in which members could get a Lucky Ducky t-shirt for having someone else sign up through them. I heard it didn't gain a lot of traction and was hoping that I could even buy a couple shirts when the event ended, but to no avail. I like ducks a lot so that was a bit sad for me.
The staff are all very helpful and friendly. The exercise equipment is state of the art.
I will mention one issue that I've heard from several people who have visited the Y to play pickleball. They have all said that the lighting is so dim, so, for that reason, they would not join the Y. I also find it very dim and it makes it difficult to see the ball.
Great facilities. Our family use the yoga classes and swimming pool often.
Good equipment, friendly people

Friendly staff, nice facility, large selection of classes offered
