Healthy environment
The staff are excellent
The South Tampa Y has all the equipment for a good workout. The facility is clean. The staff courteous. The only small tics that keep me from awarding a 10 is too loud music in the exercise area and at the lap pool and too many people who get wrapped up in thier smart phones while others are waiting for the machine they're not using while they're checking thier stocks or texting thier girlfriend.
Good variety of equipment classes and education aids

Very friendly
I am an ardent fan of the Y! From swim team early morning workouts in high school when the Bob Sierra Y was on Gunn Highway (that's a throwback!) to daily visits between 2Phone number removed to get in physical, mental and emotional shape. The 2 hours of daycare at the Kids Zone literally enabled me to complete my PhD while being a working and studying single mom to 6 children.
I have always gravitated to the YMCA because of their emphasis on FAMILY and COMMUNITY. We love the Movie Nights, World Laughter Day with Dr. Gold, Holiday Breakfast with Santa, sports sessions, summer camps and Parents' Night Out.
My one recommendation would be to better utilize the goodwill and talents of your membership. I am not in a position to contribute to the annual campaign, but have reached out numerous times to assist with Leaders Club (my daughter Alessandra Boissiere was one of the founding members at the Bob and I attended Blue Ridge and Hi-Y in high school in the 80s), with offering training for Summer Camp Counselors, and Diversity/Equity/Inclusion and Belonging workshops for staff and leadership. No one has ever taken me up on these offers. I have also offered to teach Spanish for the preschool program and/or Baby Signing for the youngest ones as enrichment.
Happy to be a more vocal and visible cheerleader for the YMCA of Tampa Bay--just reach out to me! Dr. Debbie (First name removed Woeckner Saavedra, PhD in US Latinx Cultural Studies)
