Geared to a wide range of residents.
Awesome instructors who take the time to know us and strive to help us meet our goals. Great variety of classes...something to give us a lot of choices. Monthly meal sharing is a fun way to fellowship. Love my YMCA!!!
Variety of programs
Coach approach has worked well for me .
Program consists of initial evaluation and monthly reviews for continued advancement.
Great for Post-Rehab program
Yoga class and Zumba are very good!
Amazing crew, clean, family oriented as great classes.
Love the group exercise classes so far!
All the parkinsons classes!
We love the Forsyth YMCA. The only suggestion I would make is to had a left turn signal light, trying to turn left out of the Vickery is so dangerous. I do love the fact that more late classes are being added also. I work in Sandy Springs 8:30-5:30 and I would never be able to make any 5:30,6:00 class so thanks for adding some 7:00-8:00 dance classes.
I like use of weight room and swim classes.
Everything from exercise machine,swimming,
Cardio,weights etc
I stick to yoga, the weight room sauna and track...so I don’t participate in other programs but overall I think Kim is AMAZING! The quality of our equipment continues to be good and the gym standard has increased since Kim has arrived. I love that the Y Is not intimidating, not over-crowded like One Life, is family-oriented and I love the overall mission of the Y.
very friendly and suitable to my needs..
Love the Y and the Senior Legends Lounge at Forsyth. Great water aerobics classes.
The Y approach covers all age groups with friendly instructors and the Y swim classes offer
swim programs which prepare young and mature swimmers for the furure.
All of it
Look forward to getting into the pool every time! Like the environment and the friendly nature of most everyone.
I appreciate the number of wellness programs available at the Y enabling my wife and myself to stay healthier. There are great instructors at the Forsyth Y all striving to keep the members Healthy and Strong. This Y offers programs and amenities for all age groups.
I love the Aerobics for Parkinson’s patients. Lynn is wonderful, and knows each of us so well. She is generosity and kindness exemplified.
Good variety of options for machines, free weights and classes.
Relaxed atmosphere
Friendly staff and patrons
I love having access to a wellness coach. It’s the guidance I needed to get started and stay motivated.
we're in the Parkinsons exercise and the Parkinsons cycling classes and enjoy both. Everyone can work at their own level and the ability to socialize with others is very important.
I love the variety of classes offered and the instructors. Would love to have a new sound system for the 6 am gym workouts. The instructors range from the speaker is usually limited and sometimes interrupts the flow of the work.
Great atmosphere
Love the monthly fitness challenges.
Staff are always so friendly as are the cleaning crew.
Suggestions: Order a few more sets of black dumbbells with metal handles in 15-20lb size. The solid metal ones are old and wiggly.
Would also love to see a squat machine - not the barbell one but the one that has shoulder pads.
And possibly put cubicles around certain machines like the abductor/adductor leg machine - it’s awkward to use and many male members will stare while females use the machine.
Variety of Machines Good coaches socializing in the Legends Lounge. Field trips
Number one is the people.
And, number two is the staff.
Never too busy, friendly staff, easy to use equipment and space.
Kids programs, swim, and adult classse

The instructors here are the best!!! Carrie P, Kelly V, and Toni (Antoinette) are the kindest, most caring people! They work so hard to make sure that you get a great work out and have a great time. They are all very knowledgeable and helpful to make sure you have proper form so you don’t get injured. I’ve been to other Y’s before, but the Forsyth location is my favorite because of these people. I love many of the classes offered, but I wish there were more Pilates style classes. Also, I’ve taken spin classes at another Y where it was in a smaller room with dimmed lights (like a soul cycle style class) and I wish the spin classes at this Y were set up like that.
