The variety of options.
Decatur Y Staff is the best.
The weight room and cardio area are top notch. They provide access for many, and love the windows.
I go to the East Lake Y for swimming and aerobics. I can't ever figure out when I can get my laps in without too many people.
Availability of exercise equipment.
Congeniality of the men's locker room
Wide variety of classes and exercise opportunities. Good staff fostering a sense of community! Love it!
convenient location, extended hours, reasonable fees
The staff is always helpful!
Availability and friendliness.
I like the aerobics classes. They’re fun, we’ll paced, and usually geared to a range of skill.
The Decatur-DeKalb Y has so much to offer in the way of group exercise...I exercise at the Y 6/7 days per week nearly all of the time. I love my spin classes, my turbo kick classes, and my fierce funk. I really like that the machines are available and rarely is there a wait. The Y is clean and there's always towels. The staff are also really friendly. I am lucky to be so near this facility!
I lowe the pool!
Kathy’s Aqua classes
I was visiting from East Cobb - a great facility and well maintained.
Open time in pool.
I like the Executive Director and how her spirit, drive and values permeate the whole Y. She is efficient, deeply caring, kind and understanding and these values are reflected by her staff. I like that it is a true reflection of and concerned with the community. They do wonderful things, such as supporting persons with disabilities and they value diversity and inclusion. They also act on their values.
They have a ton of classes and great exercise facilities. Everyone is made to feel welcome.
Great instructors. Lots of classes!
A lot of activities for all fitness levels and it's not stodgy and pretentious like a hardcore gym, but you can grunt as needed...😊
Steam room. Pool. Variety of equipment and classes.
Needs Table Tennis.
I like the loyalty, I lost my job since last year and now I have part-time job and I’m going to school. My income is low and I thought that I well drop off from this YMCA, but they helped me by lower payment and kept me healthy at the dark time I was straggling. I was under stress and Depressions. YMCA is my family, best friend and everything to me. Happy to be part of this amazing family.
Fine facilities, excellent instructor and wellness coach (Lisa), friendly staff.
Excellent classes and instructors. Welcoming staff.
Community outreach.
Nonsectarian, all are welcome, approach whether we believe in one god, Allah, many gods, Vishnu, Kali, and others, no supernatural powers.
Having showers with soap and towels - which do not have at federal government facilities that am eligible to use at worksite in Atlanta.
Good variety of programs but sorry that Les Mills Strong is no longer available, as it exquisitely combines both aerobic and strength exercises. Is there any way to reinstate it or something else that combines these two components?
Group exercise programs--such a great variety.
Inclusive
I like it because you provide bath towels.
Love the workout classes like Spin and Bodypump!
Lots of programs and activities.
The YMCA has created a very positive environment for all ages. I enjoy the variety of classes offered as well as the cardio equipment area. I especially like the weights in the women's locker rooms so I don't have to lift weights in the main area and feel self-conscious.
Many class options and times / diversity of the membership / quality of the teacher

The coaching staff is knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I like the atmosphere and comraderie of the people who exercise, and I love the variety of classes offered. I especially am enjoying the 30-minute "Move Together" class that is working on functional movements so I don't become stiff and immobile as I age.
