I have been coming to the Y for 21 years. I love the atmosphere! The employees are always cheerful and helpful. It is always very clean. I do not have children but I love the children's area where I see kids playing and having fun. I prefer the Y over a regular gym because of all the programs for low income children. This is so important.
I use the weight machines, and do not take part in the various classes, but I believe that the variety of ways to stay in shape is what makes the Y such a hub of activity.

The senior fitness classes & aqua cardio classes, & all the individual equipment.
Good 6 am yoga class and ping pong room
Friendly and professional. Many of them.
The pool, hot tub and changing areas are VERY CLEAN. I was delightfully surprised that lanes are open to swim in the evenings.
I love the Y and everything they offer!
Times of work
Everything! I love the variety of classes, and how as a beginner I always feel there is a place for me in the classes I've taken so far. The instructors are very good though several do not have headsets that work very well. I can only hear about 30% of the instructions given. The level of teacher is very good however and they seem to genuinely care about the students' experience. I enjoy the mini-events that take place in the lobby and I enjoy the diversity of Y offerings.
i like programs for seniors and I like the open welcoming nature of the Y to all
Love your weight lifting equipment.
I don’t really use any other services or programs other than that.
There is so much to love about the Y:
The range of options from active group classes to aqua yoga.
The sense of an inclusive community: I see old friends and have made new ones
The wide age range and abilities of members: thank you for being a place where people of differing abilities are a natural part of day to day activities
The helpful and pleasant front desk staff
The quality of instructors in group classes (Elizabeth in yoga-lates is amazing as is Vicki with aqua yoga)
I think the facility is wonderful and the variety of activities makes it very easy to participate.
I like how the Y offers activities and classes for all ages and abilities. My favorites are the kids sports, Zumba, yoga, spin classes, and kid swimming lessons. I also love the Y’s wonderful childcare. Our daughters enjoy the young kid’s Hang Time and the activities for the older kids. Love our time at the YMCA Townlake!!
Elizabeth Doss is a marvelous teacher in addition to her many other wonderful qualities...
personal trainers; pickle ball
They are inclusive and affordable. The Y is the absolute best for families.
I love the variety in program offerings and the generous amounts of time slots to make something work with whatever schedule and the instructors are great!
The group exercise programs are great. Wish we could also do MOSSA programs in addition to Les Mills
A lot of exercise equipment.
It had been a few years since I had visited the TL YMCA; the last time was in 2016, and at the time I recall there only being one squat rack in the weight room. Imagine my surprise when I visited earlier this week and there were multiple new racks, letting everyone get their workouts done without the wait. That shows real commitment to membership, and everyone involved should feel proud of their work.
Love Aquayoga... gotten so popular, need an
