I moved to Schertz almost 15 years ago from Midland and was so glad to be within 5 minutes of the YMCA. Having been a YMCA active member for 45 years, I was very impressed with Schertz being just as progressive in their programming (Les Mills) and their state of the art equipment.
All staff are courteous and friendly, too.
My home away from home! I have lived in La Vernia,
9 years now, and still drive over for body combat, yoga, and elliptical/cycling at least twice a week if possible.
Kudos to the 9:30 MWF body pump instructors and Monday 10:30 yoga class. Also Aya in body combat in which I can no longer participate!
The coaches are attentive and the atmosphere is positive.
The responsiveness of staff, eagerness of parents, and variety of activities that the Y offers for our community.
This has been the best league we have participated in! The program really focuses on the kids and keeps them engaged. They tech them the fundamentals and work with all skill levels.
Exercise classes are great. Not a lot of busy traffic in the gym which is a plus. Family activities are also very enjoyable.
Nice little flag football program
Great variety of programs and activities. It'd also be great if body pump was offered more in the evenings. Evening classes mostly consist of dance. Other varieties after 5 would be awesome!!
Each league has age-appropriate practice/game requirements and expectations. I love that we don’t have buy new jerseys every season, however, it would be easier to find our team in a big open field if they all had different colored jerseys.
We love this YMCA. That people are very friendly and helpful. The only thing I could say is that I wish for the practices for volleyball we could have some chairs by the walls. It's not quite long enough of a time to leave and come back but it's too long to sit on the floor or stand. Just a suggestion!

I like this facility because it allows me to get my workout done with access to different equipment without the need to wait.
I’m there early so there’s really no traffic at all and you can just go there get your workout done, most important is also open late.
Clean and nice to enjoy yourself while working out.
Great for all skill levels
My two youngest kids love the Tumbling class. My older daughter is playing her 2nd season of volleyball. I like the friendly environment they get to experience in both.
We have had an overall positive experience with the coaches our children have had. The communication is great & we appreciate having the app. The athlete & parent pledges are great reminders before each game. The fields are well taken care of.
On time games, plenty of parent seating, fair referees, well-maintained basketball courts
I enjoy the Active Older Adult classes. I especially like and regularly take part in the Monday, Wednesday and Friday classes at Najim. I like the fellowship there as the other participants
have been very welcoming. My favorite instructors are Clarissa Z., Liz Herrera and Victoria. As long as you offer these classes I will continue my membership. Love it!
I like the age group divisions. It’s helpful to know the practice & game times will be the same weekly (usually).
Yoga, aqua volleyball was super fun and engaging.
Staff is very helpful, welcoming. Vibe feels welcoming and not exclusive or creepy.
Instructors for the classes are helpful. Ambassadors for the golden sneakers(?) activity exercise classes have been super welcoming.
Love the restorative yoga.
You're one of the reasons I still get out of the house, post-COVID. I appreciate how clean and organized you keep everything. Appreciate the water-bottle-friendly fountains. Love the layout of the place.
Enjoy going to the park while I'm there too.
I love the Pilates program and body pump! And all the instructors and staff are so kind and caring! The Y ihas a very kind and caring atmosphere .

The two classes I attend are suitable for older people. I enjoy them both a lot.
The pool! I like the free time at the pool moreso than the pool classes
