I started going to sports clips for my trims and clean ups when it first opened up in the Northfield plaza and I always liked the atmosphere and staff. They just talked and acted like normal people, compared to the usually catty and “unique” personalities of other chain hair dressers. When I began actually caring about making my hair look good instead of just “neat” the staff helped me out as well. With each visit I would gather more tidbits of advice and feedback to make my hairstyle better after I asked. The first time I asked about it i actually saw the stylist get kind of excited, she was looking forward to helping me find my style and I thought it looked good; as did my friends. The stylist, Daina, gave me feedback without any prompting. It’s very difficult for me as a not very style-conscious guy to figure out my “look” yet Daina straight up said “I think [this] would look good because your hair is like [this]”. I really appreciated it. I never know what to ask about and when I’m given feedback I’m simply trusting the stylist, but she backed up her feedback with explanation. Again, completely through her own initiative. That is what i, as a completely clueless guy, have been looking for in a hairdresser forever. Sportsclips have always been the closest I could find but Daina straight up hit it right on target.

So simply stated this location has great atmosphere, people that care, and actually feel like they have fun on your style journey with you.

Lovely service and staff! It's great that they record what kind of cut I got the last time and refer to it everytime. It makes life easier!

I love the massage and wash with the MVP. The convenience of signing in remotely to get in the queue for a cut - and see the wait time - is ideal for a busy guy like me.

I like the friendly staff and the fact that I can watch sport while waiting instead of only having hair magazines to look at in the waiting area. Have never really had to wait for a cut in this location.

I find the electronic sign in, booking, and payment a bit of a pain.

This was my first time at the Northfield location, I’ve always gone to the Boardwalk location before. I checked online on a Sunday at 10:30 AM and the Boardwalk location was a 40+ minute wait for each stylist and Northfield said 0 minute wait for everyone - I had a feeling this wouldn’t be accurate but went anyway. They said most of us came around he same time but may be a bug in timing as all we’re 0 minutes. They were however very friendly right from when I came in. The stylist took more time than usual to ensure she understood how I wanted my hair (as it was saved on my account but wanted to be sure it hasn’t changed). My stylist, Kenzie, was very friendly, though fairly quiet, and did a great job. I always get a MVP at the end, and opted for the double promo - as it was my first time, she actually gave both MVP’s for free! I also really enjoyed the reclining seat, much more comfortable than the other location.
