Danielle is exceptional at guiding parents and encouraging kids. We are so fortunate to have this team at Sylan close by and saw a great improvement in our kids Reading and Math skills.
This experience has been phenomenal. I saw significant increases in my child's confidence immediately, and it's played a major role in what he's able to retain. I'm seeing some improvement in his ability to try on his own as well which is a huge step in the right direction. Some children experience learned helplessness and are convinced they can't do the work. Confidence is the best remedy for that. The only reason I did not give Sylvan a solid 10 out of 10 is because I was hoping to use this as a supplement to homeschooling. They offer daytime hours during the summer but not the school year due to quality teachers returning to full-time positions. After my initial meeting, I had the understanding that if there was a big enough need, some limited day time hours could be made avaialble. That is likely not the case even with the retired teacher community. That said, I am extremely happy with the experience.
We have had a wonderful experience with Sylvan Learning Oakville. My son is currently in Grade 6 and attends Sylvan for reading and writing. The teachers are patient, encouraging, and genuinely take the time to understand his individual learning needs.
I really appreciate the personalized approach and the way they make learning engaging without putting pressure on him. He has become more confident in his reading and writing, and we are seeing a positive improvement in his overall approach to learning.

They have helped my son out so much. They even know his struggles and dislikes for certain subjects but they have always pushed him in a positive manner.
Sylvan is amazing! We have been to other tutoring places, and nothing compares to what you get for the price here. Rose genuinely cares about her students. Our son has made amazing progress and is back to grade level. Our son went to a charter school that claimed he was making good progress, but we learned the teachers were just giving him good grades because they liked him. We put him in public school and saw how far behind he had gotten at a school that claimed he was ahead. Now he is getting ahead, and he enjoys school again. We love Rose and don't know where we would be without her. I would highly recommend this program to anyone because when they care, it shows in your students' progress.

My son has been attending Sylvan for a year now, and I’ve seen tremendous improvement in so many areas.
What I appreciate most is the open communication with Mr. Troy. We regularly discuss my son’s progress, identify areas where he needs extra support, and adjust his learning plan accordingly. I love that the lessons are tailored to his individual needs rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
My son attends just one session a week, and that has been enough to make a significant difference. Not only has he improved academically, but he also enjoys learning and has become much more confident at school.
I also really appreciate Sylvan’s flexible scheduling, which makes it easy to reschedule classes when needed.
Overall, I’m very happy with our experience at Sylvan and truly appreciate Mr. Troy’s dedication and support. Seeing my son grow and become a more confident learner over the past year has been incredibly rewarding. I highly recommend Sylvan to other parents!
Great tutors! Love that they assessed where each of my kids are and have helped them improve in their learning journey. The ratio of tutor to child is also fantastic. And the monthly updates ensure we know what our kids have accomplished and what they need to work on.

Sylvan is a great center for learning, specifically the center on Smith road in Fairlawn is where our child attends for math enrichment and it has helped add many useful tools to their knowledge’toolbox’. Moreover, they are more confident in tackling new things in school. The teachers have kept it fun and the administrators are first class people. I really like Sylvan’s approach and the way they assess one’s progress/performance. A world class learning center. I give my wholehearted recommendation.

My son has been going to Sylvan for about a month, and overall, we’ve had a good experience. I can already see a little progress in his learning. He really likes the learning environment and the way they teach. They do a great job of keeping students motivated and interested in learning. If your child needs extra help, I think Sylvan is a good option.

This program helped my daughter immensely! The transition from grade 7 to grade 8 math was a huge challenge for her. After going through the assessment at Sylvan it was discovered she had learning gaps from several years prior. She went to Sylvan for grade 8 and 9 and her math grades went from developing to proficient. She has a strong math foundations now that are making grade 10 math clear and easy to understand. Can’t recommend this program enough! The team at Sylvan Comox are incredible.
I reached out to Sylvan nearly two years ago for my daughters. Silki, the director, was incredible at reassuring my husband and me that she could help our girls succeed in school, and she has been more than helpful ever since. They've improvements in French, Math, and any othe subject that needed attention at the time.
She has restored their confidence in themselves and in learning, and our daughters truly open up to her about what is happening in their classrooms. With our permission, she even reaches out directly to their teachers when necessary so we are all on the same page.
We love that she recommends additional materials aligned with the Ontario curriculum. Since most schools have moved away from textbooks in favor of printed worksheets, it can be hard to know what our kids are learning or what is coming next. If it is not posted on Google Classroom, Silki and her team of tutors step in seamlessly to fill those gaps.
She makes returning to the centre effortless by letting us choose our own days and hours. If we ever need to reschedule or make up hours we have already paid for, she always accommodates our daughters. She also provides periodic updates, assessments, and tailored advice to bridge any learning gaps.
Choosing Sylvan was a tough decision at first, but it has turned out to be the absolute best choice we have made for our daughters' education—we only wish we had done it sooner! There are far fewer arguments over homework and studying now. Silki runs this location exceptionally well.
