We have been with Sylvan (specifically Audrey Waterfield) for about 9 years now.
We discovered Sylvan when our daughter was in 3rd grade. No matter what we did in asking our school system to test her as she was having trouble learning....they declined. Her grades were up but not at no cost. Our family life was miserable. Her grades were only good after hours of grueling "torture". My husband heard about Sylvan Learning Center and we made the call. Best thing we ever did. 9 years later, she is working the summer doing assistant tutoring!
Would always refer anyone having troubles with learning to contact Sylvan. If they are at all close to our facility (Sylvan Learning of Wilton, Wilton, NY).
Sylvan has been so wonderful! Making my nervous Kindergartner/going into first grade, feel so welcomed!! My son has been progressing and couldn’t say more praises about Sylvan!!
Allen is really wonderful and has been so helpful. Our daughters only complaint is that she would like to go for 2 hours instead of just one. I can't argue with that! Thank you!
The teachers are patient. The programs are tailored to students' individual needs. One teacher is maximum with 3 students. Students are learning in a relaxed environment. Students may not learn in a fastest way, but they will make steady progress step by step and eventually they build up their skills to study independently. My kid have been with Sylvan since Grade 5 or 6 and he graduated from Grade 12 this year. His English was Developing for years and C-. But his English in Grade 11 is A and 84% in Grade 12. As a parent not native English speaker, I can see my kid's English improving during the years. And one more thing I would address is that when Sylvan teaches student writing an essay, the student learns the way how to write an essay step by step, not just write it. However, based on my understanding, Sylvan is not for students who want to pass an exam and get a good mark in a short time. Actually, Sylvan helps students build up their steady English foundation, catch up with peers, and evetually be able to study and improve by themselves to master English.

My granddaughter is very delighted to attend every session and eager to tell me what she learned. The program has really helped her confidence in learning. And the staff has been very kind and caring
They were able identify gaps in my daughter's knowledge in math, strengthen those concepts and help her to advance in her skills. She looks forward to going to the sessions and loves her tutors. The only reason for the less than perfect score was just the confusion we experienced around purchasing a package. It simply was not clear when I purchased the sessions that it was for a set number of sessions and how many were included. If that is clarified on the front end that would make the experience top tier.

Sylvan was able to get my grandson in immediately for tutoring. We felt he needed to polish some skills before he began Kindergarten. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and inviting. My grandson was excited to "go to school" each day. A positive education experience provides a solid foundation for learning. We will be looking to Sylvan if he needs to improve his skills as he goes into school.
Very well informed and thorough director and staff upon admission. They were very friendly, accommodating, and flexible with our schedule. Always in communicating with us about any questions and needs we had.
the place although small it was very clean and organized, that’s important to me. My son loved it.

I'd like to personally thank all of the staff, and great teachers that my kids have been working with for a little over a month now. They have each increased dramatically in educational levels. Reading, Writing and Math have been getting SOOO much better. My children used to be very resistantly rigid to learning and now they are advancing in ways that reveal how well the quality of Sylvan Learning Center of Kendall truly is. I am so very thankful for the efforts of the teachers and the kindness of the staff that truly care, while continuously encouraging my kids to take their education to the next level. We have tried many other places, but this is one that works best!

My son has been attending sessions at Sylvan for a year now and I have seen so much improvement in his reading skills. He is much more confident when he reads and has caught up to his grade level.

I recommend Sylvan in SW Ft Worth because of the care they give to both the student and the parent. Trey walked us through everything, and was an advocate for our family. My daughter felt loved and encouraged by her teachers. Trey meet with me regularly to share clear, detailed progress updates reports.
Staff are great and the kids have learned more than what is taught in the classroom.

My daughter continues to thrive in her lessons. She has increased skills every week since starting. My daughter is a little bit younger so she’s a bit timid and the staff is great with her. They care about my child as well as her educational goals and needs. The ultimate goal is to get a child to where they need to be in school to be successful. I have never had the impression that the goal was to get as much money as possible. That is one thing I truly appreciate as a parent on a budget.
My daughter has been gaining confidence in her test taking skills! It has greatly helped that she and her tutor, Ms. Julie have worked out a schedule and gives her a comfortable pace to complete assignments between sessions!
