The Y"s classes gives people of different backgrounds the opportunity to engage with people they might not ever get to know! In this age of civil discourse that is a good thing!
The staff treats you like an individual that matters. They do it to everyone.
There is a variety of classes I attend and get great value in mind/body/spirit.
You get to know people there, and there is ease in saying hi, or nodding, or having conversations. People don't criticize or look down on you if you are not in as good physical shape as others. They applaud you for being there, doing what you can.
The Y has a good variety of classes for senior citizens.
Teach you how to use equipment
Friendly people

But please clean and sanitize the floors more frequently.
It's my family and community. My home away from home. Willie is AWESOME! ....and the young man who goes to KU in Civil Engineering is AWESOME! I love the people who are there with me; we talk everyday! God bless you all!
I really like the class I take, but I think the classes are scheduled a little too close together. I always feel like we're being rushed out for the next class to come in. Perhaps there could be more space between classes to account for days where the instructor might be running behind or something?
Give good service
Provide the opportunity to get and stay in shape while enriching our community.
They include training with the membership
I am extremely pleased with my granddaughter's swimming lessons by Louis. He is great with her, very patient, and extremely encouraging. I would recommend the swim lessons there for any child. I am very pleased I enrolled her in this class, and will continue to enroll her in future classes as she becomes more proficient.
But, as an adult, I would like to sign up for classes and pay a fee for the class, but have been repeatedly told I must have a membership. I do not, repeat not, want a membership but only to take certain classes. The membership is expensive for my budget, and previously I was quoted $42 a month for myself - add my husband and that is $84 a month - far to expensive for what I would like to participate in. As I have said to many people, adults at the Y are in a higher income bracket then me. I remember the Y when it was a community haven for all ages, whether you could pay or not. That is what I feel the Y should be. Unfortunately, Providence is not known for caring for the community, but for making a profit.
