The building and the workout areas are bright and cheerful. However PLEASE fix the app so signing up for classes is easier.
Outstanding Gym and super clean
Staff are friendly. Free coffee. Quiet and cozy environment, clean bathroom and changing room. Simple, pressure-free and has everything you need. The members there are all so friendly and love kids. even when I don't feel like working out, I like to go there just to sit and read while enjoying the free coffee; the atmosphere there just suits me better; it feels more like a second home than a gym. The kids' room is bright and spacious. I've been to both LifeTime Berkeley Heights and YMCA @ Berkeley Heights, and I want to say I truly prefer the atmosphere in YMCA and my kids too.

Just a few things that could make it even better:
Childcare hours. Kids in half day pre-K are in school the same hours that kid zone is open. It would be so helpful if it was open a little longer on weekdays!
Some classes start at 9:00, which means that parents can't drop their kids off at kidzone and be in that class on time (Soul body and vinyasa are two that I've noticed). I would love if these started at 9:15 so that I could take them!

The staff is welcoming, friendly, fun and safe community where members can make friends in addition to working on his/her wellness plan.
Really appreciative of all the swimming coaches’ time with our kids aged 5 and 7. Even though there are a number of coaches that have taken the sessions, it is much appreciated that they seek to understand both of their abilities, and ensured that the each session is challenging them sufficiently. They get the most out of stroke correction / advice, and if there is an opportunity for more of this to occur that is much appreciated.
I love the Y, and the staff are awesome. Everyone greets me with a smile and many know my name, and visa-versa. I have been taking spin classes for more than 20 years, and have made many new friends who I probably would not have met had it not been for the Y.

Terrific friendly staff, A very clean facility, Excellent selection of classes, Good variety of gym equipment, An application online that helps you track all of your workouts, Is plenty of parking, Great hours of availability. Oh yes and reasonably priced!
Please fix the app so we can register for classes on the phone.
I do not get class registration confirmation e-mails. Get some but not all.
I like everything about the Summit Y. The Staff, the Members, the Facilities, all suit my needs. AND, everything is CLEAN.
Friendly neighborhood gym with state of the art workout equipment. I see many local people there too. Staff is friendly and helpful as well.
