Class offerings
I love going to the Y!!! Janine is awesome; I never miss her Zumba class! All the instructors are amazing & everyone is so nice & welcoming! I am a member for life!! 😊
I love the atmosphere at the Taylor Family YMCA. The folks a the desk are always cheerful and greet each member as they walk in and wish them well as they depart. There is plenty of equipment and free weight areas to excercise.
Playing a pickleball
Good very clean facility. Good classes.
Nice exercise area with variety of machines upstairs including walking track.
One drawback is no indoor pool.
Positives are many community activities, monthly trips out for seniors, monthly dinner outings, ESL get together in lovely, chess gatherings. Etc. wonderful. Place to do more than exercise. Place for community . Congratulations Y for a job well done.
Toni, he is amazing and welcomes me every morning. I’m there best wife ever.
Very wonderful staff and instructors!
Friendly and helpful staff! The pool is great for adults and kids! Great location (for me)!
Good equipment and location!
Very friendly, supportive community.
It’s very good gym with lots of classes but missing coffee there
Pickleball courts are great, both pools are in good shape and well-maintained, and the staff is generally delightful. Connie in particular brightens my day every time I see her- She brings great energy every time.
On the flipside, there are places that could be improved. Pickleball courts should be reservable, Because being forced to play with skilled strangers is not a welcoming experience for beginners, And risk turning them off. There are also a lot of teenage boys in the white zone who have no sense of gym etiquette. I’ve been at I entire life, and have never seen so many people sitting on machines, looking at their phones, not offering to let anyone work in even if you’re standing right there, and not seem to have any awareness of what they’re doing. I don’t know if there’s an orientation for young members, but if not, it should be required.

The swimming pool!
I had a great experience at this YMCA location. Staff at this location is amazing and very helpful. Planning to visit more often then originally planned.
Friendliness of staff, quality of equipment
Classes and instructors.
The spin class instructors are great! I really enjoy Keri's Cycle Fusion class, Dan's Cycle Force class, and the Saturday morning Cycle Beats class.
The aqua fitness classes helped me recover postpartum and with some knee issues. I really appreciate the child care - they do a great job. Also, the double espresso as I’m headed out the door sure helps out too!
Family oriented
The group fitness classes are fantastic!
nice staff and instructors. Really like being able to use YMCAs across the US.
Team very friendly. I appreciate the newer equipment and upgraded experience
My only complaint is:
I would like to add that you need to have the BOSU balls blown up at all locations. I've been to Taylor (my home Y), Chapel Hill and the new Cary Y and the BOSUs are never fully blown up. I love BOSU exercises, but it's not great when they are soft. They are a FABULOUS exercise tool. I'm also not sure the big balls are fully blown up, either.

Clean facility and well maintained equipment. Plenty support staff. Coffee station.
