I like how it’s family oriented and my daughter feels comfortable working out there versus other health clubs. This challenge seems to be parking at certain times of the day.
Multiple ways to work out. Plus I love the sauna
friendly staffed well equipped
Everything!!!!!
...a person could possibly want is there,
all under one roof...
from lots of exercise bikes to treadmills, and weight machines - and not just one or two of each!
Classes galore! - kickboxing, yoga, tai chi, and lots more.
A POOL! and a SAUNA and a STEAM ROOM.
To top it all off. the staff is knowledgeable, professional, kind, and always ready to encourage you to set and meet your goals.
It's a one-stop shop spa and health center.
I am VERY happy I joined the CH-C YMCA!!!!!!
Only suggestions:
1. I wish they opened earlier on sundays (maybe 10 a.m.)
2. I wish there was more early morning yoga (before work)
3. LOVE Gina for yoga, but she is very VERY repetitive and makes me less likely to attend
Very friendly staff and appreciate the ability to use the different YMCA's in the Triangle and beyond.
Staff is always friendly… pool always clean
good people, good equipment, family atmosphere.
Convenience, friendliness of staff and equipment - all reasons to join.
Check-in personnel are very helpful
Friendly staff. Great pool.
The people and the programs
Staff are friendly, effective, and easy to work with
Terrific gym like no other I have used. Wonderful and helpful check in folks; Anne. Delaney etc
Well run and responsive. Friendly environment.
A haven in burgeoning Chapel Hill!
Excellent water aerobics instructors and opportunity for social interaction with similar aged women in life cycle issues.
First of all, the check in attendants are fantastic. Cheerful and friendly. It's a really nice start to a workout.
So far I have primarily used the treadmills and stationary bikes. Looking forward to starting classes and weights.
Locker rooms are general quite clean.
The temperature in the sauna is often 160 or so, which is low. POssibly because of people coming in and out and the cool air of the outer room coming in. That might be dealt with by a space heater in the outer area. Not too hot but enough so the air isn't relatively chilly. But lately I have been in there for 175-185 degrees and that is in line with various longitudinal studies that suggest various significant heart and health benefits.
Sam is one of the best teachers at the Y! One of the main reasons for keeping my membership.
Coaching, organization, communication
Our coach is wonderful. The low key environment lets the kids learn.
It’s organized
The practice and games in the same day is great
Wonderful families; great coaches who are volunteers but take their role seriously; supportive environments for kids to play sports; affordable price that makes the experience inclusive and available.
Great facility & staff!
We are blessed with a wonderful group of coaches! I love the positive, welcoming attitude of all participants. Communication from the YMCA is strong.
Variety and number of fitness classes offered and friendly and helpful staff
Focus on families. Great sports offerings for kids. Thoughtful on-site staff.
i love the childcare it's a gift from above.
one simple request would be if there could be some odor killers in the sauna / locker room area. maybe like an air filter or something that would mask the smell a bit. its particularly strong in the saunas.
Great
The variety of beneficial classes with knowledgeable instructors, clean and safe facilities, friendly staff.
Good organized, polite coaching staff
I enjoy the structure of the league and how it provides a place for my son to enjoy sports in a low-stress environment.
