Member Testimonials
Facilities. Community feel - I like all the age groups served.
Great facility for healty activities- always great to know that the membership supports great work in the community, too.
And, seeing my usual posse of fellow morning gym goers and Y staffers is a great way way to start the day!
The counselors create great programs to keep the kids engaged.
Great experience
good location and plenty equipment.
Facilities are clean, well staffed, and welcoming. Classes are fun and challenging.
I would recommend Alexander - warm, friendly environment, really nice women's locker room, sauna, good class offerings, I run into people I know. However,I have to confess that I've been going to the SE Y more than Alexander (even though it's significantly farther). The first issue is the parking situation I usually don't have an extra 20 minutes to come early enough to get parking. I I've arrived late, or even missed class, multiple times. I know it's temporary, but it's really turned me off, enough to mention it when friends ask me about the Y. (i.e. make SE your primary).
The other reason I've been going more to SE is that they have an outstanding mind/body program - well beyond yoga. The BodyBalance class is excellent. There are regular meditation classes, Tai Chi, and more. Alexander is where I go when I want to pound it out - there are many great weight, cardio classes etc. But I need to balance that out with quieter practices (other than straight yoga). I know pilates and barre are listed as Mind/Body - but as a long time practitioner of both - they are much more body than they are mind.
I'm sure parking will largely be solved after the construction - but it was never great to begin with. That said - I'm happy that I restarted my membership and think y'all are great.
I really wish you would post larger signs about the rudeness of members sitting and reading their phones on exercise machines. I wouldn't mind a total ban in shared exercise areas. Leave your phone in your locker!

Great location, clean facilities, awesome pool!
Good programs, facility, and staff
Great counselors. Program makes it possible for us to work. Good value. Has taught our child a lot of good skills and he has developed confidence.
Everything
clean, well-equipped, and friendly. Parking at lunch time was not a problem.
Safe, they stayed safe during Covid. Caring staff who build relationships with students. Fun for my kid.
Friendly staff, all type of people!
I have a pleasant time there. Everyone is friendly.
Excellent equipment and facilities and friendly staff
Great classes, friendly staff, great facility.
Everyone has been extremely helpful from the wonderful man who enrolled us to giving directions. Kevin took my grandchildren and me on a tour and we truly appreciated him.
Very friendly staff, clean facility, great class instructors, equipment kept in good shape.
You could repair the downstairs women’s lockers’ locks- many are broken
Gym is always clean, staff is always friendly. Parking is the only problem
Everything about the Alexander YMCA is great. The equipment is top notch. The environment is great for working out. The staff are all wonderful. Bruce, Zion, Marcus, Harrison, Tony and the trainers, including Lauren are just wonderful people and hard workers. The parking is easy. If I could go every day I would!
Great equipment; convenient location to where we live.
I love the Y and the experience they have to offer there. Very family friendly and welcoming.
They play great music like Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin, and Deep Purple. Also, they have the best steam room.
Friendly staff, beautiful facility, clean and comfortable setting.
Lots of classes to choose from. Great amount of machines and equipment. Love that the facility is always clean and staff is super friendly.
I like the steam room and lanes for swimming laps. I think most of the instructors for yoga are really good especially the one on Saturdays (1.5 hour class). The womens lockers are very finicky though and I get locked out a lot. Sometimes the bathrooms are not clean. I like the sauna too and the front desk people are nice.

I love the water aerobics, gentle yoga thrive cardio strength and chair stretch classes!! These classes have really helped my senior body both physically and mentally! All of the teachers and people that work at the Y are top notch!!
