Member Testimonials
Friendly staff and good equipement
The Y is like our family. We see the same members and staff nearly every time we go. The staff is awesome! I spend a lot of time in the pool and it is being well run. The lifeguards are responsive to all members. I watched one guard leap into action when a small child slid off a kick board. He moved super fast before the child had time to be afraid. The aquatics directors work hard to make sure everyone has time and space in the pool. That is a tough job.
I like the YMCA because I feel accepted. Every time I clock in out it’s says accepted it’s a little thing. But I believe a lot of little things make a BIG thing. I work at the DROP in ZONE for a long time. I love seeing all smiling faces. I say my job is fun fun fun fun then it’s not a job then you want to be there I love my job playing mine craft and games with the kids . What I tell the kids I am the teacher of Fun and there is no normal I have autism low on the scale I had trouble speaking when I was little taking speech lessons when I was little. I constantly got told I mumbled. I love the YMCA It gave me confidence in my abilities I love helping people specially with Autism please come in to say Hi I work Monday—Thursday 4—8 I work at the day care 3:00 my name is Blasco I tell the kids I am Tabasco or Costco to make it fun I got stickers from. Fantastic, thoughtful & positive instructors
Facilities, staff members, and clean environment
We just became members, but Kaitlyn was so amazing with my 4 y.o. He has some extra needs, and she made him feel so special and excited during our "tour". He is typically very nervous in new environments, she raced him on the track (more than once) and was just so sweet. He can't stop talking about coming to the Y. Rene was also generous and kind. She quickly helped process my financial aid and connected personally with my son and I. She also sent me home with stickers to help hype my son up even more. So excited to be here!
Great!
Love Ignite on m/w/f 9:30 AM. We were informed today that no more mat on the floor exercises (abs) due to safety concerns. We must have mat exercises on the ground. My personal experience is BAD knees, so it takes me awhile to get down and up, but I still need to do the AB work.
the silver and fit class with Sarah is quite good, but moving it to 8:00 AM is an inconvenience for me. The time is being changed for Sarah's convenience. One hour is perfect for my age and stamina. She just needs to keep it within the limits by shortening one or two repetitions.
The silver and fit class with Sarah is a really good class.
Basic was working in the Kid’s drop-in room and honestly-he’s the greatest person ever! As a teacher, I note environmental impact and management differently than most. Basco is tuned into the kids in a way that only veteran teachers and parents are. But he did it without having built a strong relationship with the kids. Holy Hannah! That’s a gift! He was differentiating his energy and meeting each kid where they were at. My kiddo has autism and a fair amount of social anxiety and he diffused it so fast. She was swept into the space and the group instantly became a mini family in seconds. They were all doing different activities but Basco was in and out of all of them. One kid wanted to just wait the 6 minutes until his family came-and that was honored and still this kid was routinely included. How long was I there to witness this happening? Only 5 minutes! Seriously…clone this man. He is amazing! He should be training your kid’s staff.
I can't say enough about how great the surgefit classes are. The instructors Tracy and Crystal are motivating and fun, the music is awesome. Great combo of cardio and strength. The members who attend the classes are so welcoming and supportive. As a medical doctor who specializes in fitness, weight management health- the class has it all!!!
The ventilation in the Yoga room (next to the kid's gym) is far too strong & cold, especially for the 8:30 AM class.
Classes & inspo.
Classes, fellowship, schedules, health.
Several people would love the shadow kickboxing class taught over at Haselwood by Castor! Or one like it here at the Tom Taylor.
The resistance band class that Terri did during Fitness Fest would be a great addition, especially as an "express" class. Same is true for the stretch class Morgan did after Beth's spin class, an express stretch after spin would be very welcomed!
The equipment is great, the staff is amazing.
Sara
Water aerobics!
I love the Y but $20 is too much for a guest for 1 time
More parking and more yoga classes
More afternoon Barre classes please :)
Monday-Friday Barre afternoon classes PLEASE!
Allow racquetball courts to be reserved in 30-minute increments
Turn the sound down in the gym for workouts- too loud
Please move the muscle up class to another room- the music is so loud when trying to do yoga! Put the yoga classes next to each other.
