Hi. I’m really enjoying Rana’s circuit class and hope to see her teach more Silver Fit classes. She makes her circuit class enjoyable and challenging and also looks out for those who cannot keep up.

Hello,
I am submitting an Name removed concern regarding a member at the Tom Taylor YMCA in Gig Harbor. I am reporting this in good faith out of concern for member comfort and safety.
On multiple occasions, during the typical afternoon hours of approximately 3:00–5:00 PM, I have observed a male member (name believed to be Gary Jones) engaging in behavior that has made others uncomfortable.
Observed behaviors include:
• Approaching and initiating conversations with female members, including individuals who appear to be significantly younger
• Continuing conversations in a way that has appeared prolonged or one-sided at times
• Repeatedly positioning himself near or around certain individuals while they are working out
• Appearing to observe or follow individuals around different areas of the gym on more than one occasion
While I understand that social interaction is not inappropriate on its own, the pattern and context of these interactions have appeared uncomfortable to multiple people, including myself. I have also personally observed situations where intervention or distancing felt necessary to reduce discomfort.
I am not alleging any criminal activity, but I am reporting this because the behavior has created concern among several members and may be impacting the sense of safety or comfort in the facility.

The climate is welcoming, energetic, helpful. The building is very clean and tidy. The staff and instructors are happy, knowledgeable.
The Gig Harbor (Tom Taylor) YMCA is clean, friendly and has knowledgeable workers. When I check in I am always met with a “good morning Ray” and a big smile.
I use the walking track, free weights and pool for my workouts. I also use the hot tub to relax after my swim. The shower room is always clean.
I would highly recommend the Tom Taylor YMCA to anyone that is looking for a place to workout.
Signing up was easy and the gals behind the desk were very friendly and helpful. Everything is cleaned and so far is great. I have only been there twice.

I just have a request that the turnable floor fans be cleaned as they were quite filthy when I was there today. I informed the front desk but they suggested I make the comment on this QR code access. Thank you very much.
There are so many options. And everything is kept very clean.
I like most things about it.
However, I wanted to suggest maybe considering moving the Monday morning (9:30am) Surge Fit class to the gym? This morning there were about 40 bodies crammed into Room 2 and it's not only very hot and crowded but feels like a possible safety issue with all the moving around we do in there. I noticed the main gym was open during that time, so just thought I'd put it out there! I've talked to others who also said they prefer the space of the main gym for that class.

The location and the vibe
Great classes.
But, while waiting in line with another member at the 2 nd floor restroom, a volunteer cam with cleaning buckets and when one of the bathrooms became available, went inside without either cleaning bucket.
As I was coming out of the other restroom, he came out as well, picked up the buckets and left. This means he just jumped the line and went on his way.
I understand that this is a person with special needs, but if he could receive some guidance.

I like the great staff: helpful, supportive, available.
I like the location: it's 20 miles from home, but it's close to other places I usually run errands, so it's convenient.
I like the facility: it's large enough to handle the crowds and even if I'm there at the "busy" times, the weight machines, free weights, and aerobic machines are usually available within a few minutes of when I want to use them.
I like the children's programs: though we're grandparents with faraway grandkids, it warms my heart to see the engaging and supportive programs for kids of all ages.
