Great classes and swim lessons
I use the Y for swimming. I've met many nice people and made some friends.
Two things I would improve about the pool. 1) Better maintenance on keeping the pool clean and w/o algae and dirt around the steps. 2) Make sure the pool is up and ready at 6am more consistently.
Chase was very responsible when he was in charge. The pool WAS up and running at 6am.

The front desk people recognize me and say hello, they are friendly. I'm able to do a complete workout, using free weights and machines, in 45 minutes (and 1 hr. 15 minutes if I add the bicycle or treadmill). The music is never too loud. The garage doors are opened for fresh air duing the winter months. There's a wide variety of classes if I want to do a group class. Personal trainers are available if I want a private session. It's a good place to exercise.
The only negative is that the landscaping has been ruined by the current landscaping company. The trees have been butchered and look atrocious. Trees are supposed to have density of both branches and leaves, so birds can roost at night and be protected from the sun during the day. But your current landscaper over-prunes, and this looks terrible. Plus, it's not giving children the opportunity to see ecology in action. And there used to be shrubs and more landscaping in the front, along Liberty Lane, and they are all gone. The landscaping looks like the apocalypse happened. Of all companies, the YMCA should be leading the charge for shade and nesting areas and superb environmental practices. And yet, you are not.
I love the Y.
It's very community and family oriented. It's great to be able to get a good workout in something other than a commercial gym.

Year-round lap pool availability. The pool has been kept clean and water looks great. Staff is knowledgeable & friendly. The upgraded weight room is appreciated as well.
I like water arobics and silver sneaker classes. Like new machines would be good to have someone show us how machines work. Like class in the back not sure what it is called. Like all instructors they work very hard. Hope pool is fixed soon.
