The Ahwatukee Foothills Family YMCA is staffed by very friendly and professional people. The other YMCA Members are also friendly and polite. The facilities are exceptionally clean. There are many Programs for all ages and levels of athletic ability. I give this YMCA the highest grades!! From Reid Butler.
The facility is clean and the equipment in good working order. Front desk staff is always very friendly and helpful. Also it’s in a very convenient location.

There is something for everyone, whether it’s group class exercise, working out on your machines, activities, etc. it is a place where both the young and old can feel safe and comfortable.
Location is close to home and kept clean. Staff are friendly. Would be nice if more fans were placed in the gym for better air circulation, especially where the stair machine is and the weights are.
After being a member here for over 15 years we finally used the pool with our 3 year old grand daughter. It was great!. Clean area, well supervised! She loved it.!

Everything. They saved me after a car accident and many dr appointments. I enjoy their socials and the wonderful volunteers that donate their time. I will gladly donate to the Y every year.

Valley of the Sun YMCA has a number of activities and services that greatly benefit the community.

The staff and equipment are outstanding.
It’s very convenient to where I live. I always like how clean it is and all of the variety of workout equipment available to use. Having the pool is a great option also. I mostly use the pool and wish that it was open from open to close.

Great facility, friendly & helpful staff. Busy but not overcrowded. Good variety of activities and equipment.
Zumba, Strength (Silver Sneakers) and Balance classes are fun. Hopefully we have Belly Dance at the Ahwatukee branch in the near future.
I enjoy the weekly 7am spin class, the friendliness of the staff, the variety of the gym equipment and the ability to get a good workout quickly and efficiently. I feel that the cost pays for itself in terms of better health, less illness and overall greater quality of life.
Easy access from freeway, lots of parking, easy check-in, spotless facilities, and year round pool access for individual lap use.
What I like: the TV's are gone, and that is so much better than before. The staff are (mostly) friendly (Austin was the best, but now he's at another location). I can come in, get my workout done, and then get home for dinner. There are an adequate number of evening fitness classes should I choose to use them. I recognize others who work-out in the evenings and that brings a sense of community to my life.
What I don't like: I was locked in one Saturday. Two young men were manning the desk, and they turned music/lights off at five minutes before 5 pm. I finished on my machine and then went to use the restroom. When I came out, the entire place was dark and the two young men were walking toward the parking lot. One of them spotted me and unlocked the door so that I could exit. This was very upsetting. What would I have done if locked in? Aren't they supposed to double-check the restrooms to ensure that something like this doesn't happen? And to make matters worse, they "raced" each other at high speeds out of the parking lot, driving the wrong way in the lanes and once again, I feared for my safety. This is not an admirable work ethic, and why is the YMCA hiring youth and not training them properly?
Good equipment and close to home.
Great Instructors! Good equipment. Variety of levels classes offered. Love the atmosphere.
Close to house. Easy access. Clean. I use only the gym.
