We’ve had a great experience with the Coppell Family YMCA. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the environment is clean and family-friendly. My son has especially had a wonderful experience on the swim team. The coaches are supportive, encouraging, and have helped him grow both in his swimming skills and confidence. We truly appreciate being part of the YMCA community.

good
I like that it is a competitive recreational team that wants to be financially accessible. You can tell that Coach Megan wants the best for the kids and the team. I like that there are many swim meets to choose to participate in based on your swimmer’s schedule and swim level and that they get to experience different aspects of swim team at different types of meets. Swim team is the one sport my son has really taken to and had internal motivation to be a part of and that’s really exciting to see.
Coach Aleks has such talent with the kids, focusing on skills and discipline in the water but all while making it fun for them to learn not only technique but swim safety too. In general, I like that the kids are grouped by skill level and that the groups are small enough that each kiddo gets lots of participation time while still having rest time to not become exhausted in the pool. I also like that dices are taught early on at level 3&4 from the wall and from the block. Seeing the littlest swimmers take to the water is so cute! The instructors work hard to get them used to the water, overcome their fears, and have fun in the pool.
Friendly staff and clean facilities
Family friendly. It has the equipment and classes I want. it has a kids program.
It's not too crowded at the times I go in there, the staff are helpful, and I even recovered something valuable from the lost and found that I figured someone surely would've walked out with. It's nice to be consuming media but exercising at the same time rather than neglecting my need to get in better shape, and this is easily accommodated for listening to/watching stuff on my phone there, particularly on the bikes.
The people who work at the front desk are so nice and friendly. It is clean. People are nice.
Open gym and personable front desk staff!
