Friendly workers
The group exercise classes are my favorite. Just wish you had more of them in the morning around 7-8am. 5:15 is too early, but 9:30-10am is too late!
I love that the staff is always friendly and engaging upon entrance. There’s a great variety of equipment to choose from. Even on busy days, we can get a great workout with limited wait times.
The whole family has options to engage their personal wellness journey as well as activities we can do together. I love that for us!
Basketball Courts were available as needed.
The new and refurbished equipment is nice.
We enjoy the classes with the great instructors. I wish there were more fans in the group fitness room. It is so hot in there.

I love the barre class offered at this location! I specifically travel here to take it. I’d love it if barre were offered at additional other locations, too!
Clean, not overly crowded. Great kids pool.

I absolutely love the cardio drumming class! Jen makes the class really fun!
The classes. Specifically boot camp on Tuesday and Thurday morning's. Elise is an amazing instructor and makes everyone feel comfortable and welcomed by taking the time to learn everyones name.
Sauna is too big. Doesn't get hot enough
Excellent intro to basketball - our kids really enjoyed it and the coaches were great!
Classes, especially the variety of classes at both the Visser and Spartan Nash facilities. Meeting people, getting to know them.
I go with my daughter and find the staff and patrons to be very pleasant and helpful. Also, I appreciate the great variety of equipment. (I am 90.)

Having the kid zone
I do enjoy the facilities, however I just wish they could stay on top of the hand wipes for cleaning off the machines after use. As well as paper towels in the bathroom. Perhaps hand dryers might be a better choice therefore using less maintenance
We love the SpartanNash YMCA location. By far the best location of the greater grand rapids area. From the kind and knowledgeable staff, to the family friendly environment. The SpartanNash location is amazing. 10/10 highly recommend checking it out
Rachel is such a nice instructor. My son struggles with group activities and gets really nervous. She was willing to take him aside and work with him one on one. This took a difficult experience and made it fun for my son.
I love Spartan Nash. It is a great size, good variety of equipment. It's less 'flashy' than some of the other YMCAs, but the layout makes so much sense and it's a great place to work out!
Nathan, Bart, and Lois love their instructor, Jake! They are learning a lot from him and we are super happy with the instruction! Thanks so much!
