Nice place - very clean
I moved over from MVP earlier this year. I'm pretty happy with the experience. I have only two things to note.
1. The showers aren't always as clean as they could be. This is not referencing them getting dirty in the course of a day, but buildup that I see over the course of days that easily wipes off.
2. I would greatly appreciate it if there could be signs and a campaign to remind people not to be on their phones while on the weight machines. I know MVP was about to do so when I left because the problem was so bad. There have been times when I've seen a half dozen machines with people sitting there on their phones. Frankly, it's difficult for me to understand how so many people can be so clueless, but I guess it's the way it is.
Thank you,

Lovely staff, great facility.
Always a great experience. Love the YMCA
i love this place. it’s part of my life. welcoming everyone.
We have been members for about a month and have LOVED it. The class offerings, staff, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere are amazing. Thank you!
Your track
Friendly, attentive front desk staff members. Clean facility with most equipment working (or at least well marked as being out-of-service.) Variety.
There’s a variety of ways to exercise: classes, machines, etc
Spin class Katy Borowka is the absolute best!
I am in the livestrong program and love it. Our instructor (Sarah) is so knowledgeable, kind and a great communicator. I have enjoyed meeting the other cancer survivors in the class. I can see myself continuing at Mary Free Bed on my own once the Live Strong class is finished.
The Kidzone is amazing, and I love the variety of class times/options. Had to do physical therapy at one point too and they were all great!
If this is the downtown one, I loved that you guys got rid of that desk on the weight room floor and put cables there. The lay out is 1000x better than when I was there last summer.
Also the new floors and renovations are gonna looks amazing. I like how all the machines are on the track for the time being it’s pretty fun tbh.
I got no suggestions on anything to improve there.
Nice facility, friendly staff and great atmosphere!
Pleasant staff.
Lots of machines. Plenty of classes.
Open airy atmosphere.
Barrier free access for those who need it.
Absence of a "spandex" mentality - ie folks come to exercise, not just look good.
I enjoy getting there 5-6 times a week, but it’s starting to look a bit old now. Need to get the TV fixed.
Many classes to attend, in addition to 'other' activities, like Basketball, pickleball, badminton, weight training (LOTS of equipment), etc
I like the diversity of people who participate, many ethnicities, many people with different mental and/or physical challenges, MFB YMCA has accommodations for all!!
'Handicap accessible' is taken to a new level, its not just about 'access', but people with mental and/or physical challenges are part of the MFB YMCA community, they are part of everything that is provided, enhancing 'community health'!
Great summer programs, a food pantry, cooking classes, book group discussion. The MFB YMCA is more then a 'gym'; their approach to 'well being' is very holistic!
Great setup of equipment, friendly staff and great location
Facilities and staffing are outstanding
I like the available space to get a good workout, the many programs and fun things they offer for kids
Classes and instructors are excellent. Employees very nice to all
I absolutely LOVE this location!!!
I enjoy coming here to workout and fellowship with my new friends that I have made here!
Beautiful facility, professional staff and clean environment!
My trainer Elliot has been amazing.
Really enjoy this facility, very clean and organized. The staff are wonderful and greet you with such kindness
The facilities are always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is encouraging and fun to see people of all ages and levels connecting in a community space. I also appreciate that people with disabilities are given work opportunities and part of the community here.
Nice and a clean facility
Clean, clean, clean! Well maintained facility.
The group fitness instructors (and Les Mills program) at Mary Free Bed is world class. It would be nice to have a few more sections of popular classes such as BodyCombat, Balance & Pump which can be quite crowded. Perhaps better pay incentives for instructors would help recruit & add new sections.
