Good pool programs!
I don't agree with how some of the money is spent. There is no handicapped door access from locker rooms to pool. Was promised that that would happen in July and now end of August and nothing. You've re-done pool area and installed new front door but no handicapped door access to pool. I am not handicapped but do know those who are and it makes it very difficult for them, especially the way current access is configured. And this isn't even mentioning if there is an emergency. I think this is a shame, if not illegal.
On a much smaller note, have asked several times if an additional wall clock can be installed in the weight room (where there used to be until it was removed to paint some slogan on the wall). I don't need a slogan while exercising, but I do need to know my timing. No big thing but apparently it must be. Meanwhile, all sorts of little fru fru things appear but things that are helpful for those of us who come every morning don't seem to count. For instance, there is now an umbrella over the lifeguard chair (but this is an indoor pool).
I like working out on the exercise equipment.
BollyX is my favorite. Bollywood Dance Aerobics classes, cardio and weight rooms.
A very nice place! and friendly and kindness staffs! But the shower room is old and I can't refresh at showrooms.
Mostly, I love the childcare because I can confidently leave my 4 year old and 5 month old at the kid’s club while I work out. Before I joined the Y, I was struggling to make time to work out because I couldn’t find a babysitter, but the Y makes it so easy, and Southwest Y in particular has the best Kid’s Club. I’ve gone to Other YMCA’s where it was dirty and the babysitters didn’t care about the kids. So I feel very lucky to have Megan and Sarah and the other Kid’s Club attendants.
Need more aqua exercise options after work
We love the water aerobic classes and using the gym.
The staff and the hours
I love John's classes for us seniors.
He is very nice and shows lots of respect for us seniors.
Karate, dancing and swimming
Summer camps are fun and convenient due to the wide window for dropoff and pickup. Gym has reasonably good hours and good equipment. The other members are respectful.
Instructor Diane!
Inclusive and varied affordable a place for all
I like being a member of the YMCA. I just have to change things up when one Y is temporarily closed. I wish some of the water classes could happen when the other Y is closed like on Sunday mornings! Oh well...its great the way it is! Thank you!
Class variety
Nice instructors. But the parking is an issue sometimes...
Aqua fitness. Tai chi
It's a community type of environment where all ages are welcome. The team is great It's also conveniently located near my residence.
The variety!
Inclusiveness from staff, instructors and students.
I like the swim and recreation times, however as a slower and older swimmer I find the slow/medium lane populated often by clumsy swimmers who don’t stay on their side. I have been whacked in the head and arm. The bigger area sometimes has children rough housing in it, and it feels unsafe for casual swimming. I would like there to be a ‘slow’ swim lane, NOT combined with medium speed. Fast swimmers tend to get in to the slow/medium lane if the fast lane is crowded.
Cycling classes, uncrowded weight room
Southwest Y provided a very friendly environment. Some workout machines need to be updated (stairmaster, stationary bike, and cross trainers), otherwise we will give a 10.
variety & friendliness of staff
Marie Jager's Yoga for Osteoporosis class is fantastic!
make activity be available for kids to join
Love Rachel Young's classes. Also starting to enjoy the youth classes. Like the community feel of the Y.
Swimming pool is my personal main attraction with a close second the clean locker rooms with showers.

Great teachers! Love Diane, Pauline and John’s classes. Candace is a great sub.
