I feel that swimming has been doing great in teaching my daughter to swim and patience with her
As a swimmer, I like the fact the pool is open for lap swimming every day of the week for around 3 plus hours! Also like the lockers, showers and soap.
I like having the showers right there for quick and easy clean up. My teenager likes having the gym right there where he can ride a bike while waiting for his sibling’s swim lessons to end.
YMCA always offers very good programs with reasonable tuition for members. I was never disappointed. Always recommend, and will definitely recommend if anyone asks.
i like the indoor pickleball court. It is good to be able to sign up for the court. i do not like the intrusion on the time we have to play. The hours on Wednesday were reduced to where it is not feasible to come at all.
Swimming lessons great
My favorite activity at South Valley is the lap swims.
I had the amazing Tai Chi the past Friday, I love the patience of the teacher. I also noticed the enthusiasm of people working out outside the building.
Water aerobics. Wish it was an hour like before. Please put some hand grippers on the ladder hand rails so people don’t fall backwards. Two months ago they said it was on order, seems doubtful if they aren’t in yet. The other larger step area has them but they are more needed on the other trickier ladder/ step area. Surprised no one has fallen backwards and got hurt. Thank you
The staff was very welcoming.
We used the pool while El Camino was down, and the experience was excellent.
I really only take 2 or 3 classes. The pool, dance class, Zumba. Those programs are great but overall it's the entire staff that makers the Y so warm and everyone feel welcome.
the ethnic and age diversity of the programs. Seems like there is an activity program for every categorical group.
Excellent
Lap swimming
The programs and activities are very appropriate for my age (seniors) and there are many choices in any given day.
I’ve only been using the swimming pool so far. It’s a great way for my body to get moving around. It helps me feel stronger and healthier. The instructor of the water class is so fun to follow along with. Very enjoyable. I have recently enjoyed staying 15 minutes afterwards and did some lap swimming with my paddle board. I enjoyed that too!
One of these times I want to try the Senior Workout equipment. I want to work on all the wonderful benefits the machines have to offer.
Thank you for sharing your facility. It’s very organized and the staff are so friendly and helpful.
My family has been a member for 30+ years and seem to offer something for every age group. Both my kids took their water safety classes at the Y and my son Colby was even one of your year round lifeguards and swim instructors.
I currently do Senior Aroebics, Yoga and Tai Chi .
I occasionally stop by the Friday night Ballroom class that was originally taught by my husband Frank along with a group of like minded friends (4 couples) that we call "docents" . We had a great time getting to know many of the Y members who used our class as Friday Date Night. The Docent couples allowed us to always have folks who could help net new or single dancers learn the moves..
Outdoor rec swim is great. I wish more evening hours were open for it.
The staff and members and instructors.
Yoga. Zumba.
Everyone was helpful and friendly
There is so for everyone. The pool is my favorite.
The pool. Kids club when my son was younger. The weight room area. The classes my son took when he was younger. Camp Campbell mother son weekend many times. Also doing Project Cornetstone when my son was in elementary school. The hours and being open on Sunday and the ability to use other locations when you need to. The staff.
I use the gym only. The Y is a friendly welcoming place.
Lots of classes available for seniors.
Community oriented.
Friendly staff.
Not too crowded during the day.
The senior exercise programs are ones that I aim to attend for as long as I can! Senior exercise gives me moves that I can repeat at home whenever and how often I remember to do so.
Aqua aerobics are so easy and refreshing and helpful in keeping my joints lubricated.
I'm 85 yo and joined with my friend when we retired from work, me at age 65! We looked at all the gyms in our neighborhood and settled on joining the South Valley YMCA and believe we've made the best choice. Name removed
Love the pool!
Availability of equipment and pool lanes are adequate.
Please try to stay open an hour or so over the weekend.
Thanks,
I simply like the people that work there. I'm not much of a swimmer but I enjoy taking my middle grandson for a quick hour workout in the weightroom every other day while I ride my cool recumbent trike on the other days 15-20 miles. Not bad for a 72 year old man.

Helpful for my son improve learning swimming class
