Member Testimonials
Three years ago, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. My doctors advised me to improve my diet and exercise, which led me to the Sequoia YMCA. My friend Billy suggested I try Amy’s bicycle exercise class, and after just two sessions, I noticed a significant boost in my strength and, even more importantly, my mood.
From that moment on, the YMCA became more than just a place to work out—it became a community. I’ve met incredible people who continue to inspire and encourage me every day. I’ve explored various programs, including Senior Exercise and Zumba, all of which have been fantastic. If only I had the time and energy to do them all! I also joined the aquatic exercise program (six times a week!) and even became part of the aquatic volleyball team—what a blast!
Then, three months ago, my doctors performed another biopsy. This time, the pathologist found no cancer cells. None.
For this, I am profoundly grateful. "Infinitas gracias" to my new friends, the incredible instructors, the dedicated directors, and the entire crew at the Sequoia YMCA. Your support, energy, and encouragement have made an immeasurable difference in my life.

Water volleyball is the bomb!!!
I go twice a week for the Hoist machines and the Precor AMT. I'm there about 90 minutes in total.
I like the brightness and cleanliness of the workout rooms.
I like the locker and shower rooms.
It's never crowded in the afternoons.
The staff is friendly.
Plenty of parking.
Time and price. Also, the kids are focused on learning - it doesn't feel like a subscription model where the intent is to come back every month for years. It feels like the intent is to progress so the kids are safe around water and can have fun.
I don’t do classes, but I like to work out with machines and they have new ones. I like the swimming pool and the friendly atmosphere and people.
mainly I use the pool and it's warm and the people are friendly
Water aerobics! I’m there nearly every day.
Have you made arrangements for participants to do water aerobics at another Y during the upcoming closure of the pool in April? I don’t think you understand how disruptive an extended closure is to us.
