The swimming classes are wonderful. I also like the new equipment with the hip thrust machine.
Love eGym
Would bw great if you started 1 hour earlier ie 7am on both Sat and Sun
The indoor pool and the and the EGYM training machines
We enjoyed the service at your Palo Alto Family YMCA for over ten years, and the service was very good! But, recently, we suffered the inconstancy of their recreational pool open schedule very much, which caused us (most are high aged seniors)a lot of troubles. We hope to correct the problem and provide continuous service of the recreational pool. Thank you very much for your attention!
Swimming, gym, group class
Excellent variety of activities and programs.
First of all, the Y is a welcoming and friendly place. Thanks to all at the desk for the morning greetings!
Annette is a terrific teacher and her class, Balance and Stretching, is so helpful to an older adult! I was so pleased to see that Sue, another terrific teacher, is back teaching Zumba. It’s lovely to see Yassa and Juana in the gym.
Lap Pool
The teacher, Ms. Carol, is amazing with the kids. My son trusts her and goes beyond what he thinks he can do because she inspires a lot of confidence in him.
Workout facilities are good
I only use the strength machines.
They are suitable for seniors.
Great facilities, lovely people and staff. Lifeguards Zane and Samantha (Sunday mornings) are the best! The strike the balance of being super friendly while still being good enforcers of pool rules. Only suggestion is to have more availability for family / rec swim. I imagine it's hard to keep pool open for just a few people but would be awesome to have extended hours during weekends
I enjoy the Y because I feel comfortable there. It is multi generational and feels like a family place.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
The Members have a nice kind and respectful attitude towards one another.
I appreciate they have brought back towel service. That is really nice when I use the pool. However, I don't know how you sign up to have someone explain the machines in the weight room.
the Les Mills classes and the hike club.
Lap Swimming
Patient and experienced instructors knowing how to teach little kids.
One price, many options for activities available for all ages.
Great Zumba classes — but I wish you offered line dance, too (I go to other Y’s for that).
The Palo Alto YMCA is a great safe place for all age groups. Great friendly staff are always very helpful. All classes and schedules are available for improving overall health.
At the moment I am just taking your water aerobics classes, which I love, but I hope to add gentle yoga in the near future. My only frustration is that the classes are not always at the same time every day so it is difficult to plan my day.
Availablity and making connections with others…
Friendly staff and members. Wide selection of equipment and classes.
the current administration seems to listen to the members . We have asked for better training for our instructors. We are seeing better instructors.
The facility is maintained ok - a little more attention to the bathrooms at busy times wouldn't hurt.
A community is beginning to form around members who take regular classes - that will mean more support for the Y in the long run.
Friendly and helpful staff
The variety, accessibility, schedules and staffing!

The fitness room is very clean and quiet. I really enjoy the indoor basketball court.
