I like the water exercise for arthritus and I also like the exercis in the gym for seniors. It has really helped me in strethening my body and balance.
The programs give us oportunity to meet others.

The pool is open at 6:15am on weekdays making it easier to balance regular swimming all year round with work and family commitments.

The staff are also very friendly and helpful.

RPM with Shu Mei is my best workout of the week. I also like how friendly the front desk is and how I can use the MPR when it’s empty.

I've had a membership for a few years, but didn't use it regularly....until you added pickleball. Hooray! Wish, though, for the hours of play to be increased. With only one net in a limited time allotment, the amount of waiting time to just play one game is horrendous because so many people show up for one net. Also, there are constantly players new to the game wanting to try it, so more advanced players rarely get to play a "real" game. Second suggestion is to get a paddle rack, or a white board where people add their name in the queue, or a roll of 12" rubber liner spread out for paddles to put down on the mat in the order of arrival (some of these options are quite inexpensive) so that players can keep track who is actually next to get onto the court in the next game.

I like aqua exercises. However, you do not have enough instructors, that’s why some of the classes have covered by instructors unprepared for this type of exercises. This situation is very frustrate.

I've just begun personal training. It is extremely helpful because I have never been very inclined towards working out in a gym, but knew I needed to figure out what could possibly be effective to tone my legs ---- without adding bulk. I have a lot to learn, and am very happy that I have been given extremely helpful guidance already!! I spend much of my time reading history books, and memoirs, etc., rather than exercising. I am 50 and female. Although I do a lot of walking, that doesn't seem to tone my legs at all.

When I was growing up I was very active. Four or five days a week I roller skated with friends in my neighborhood. We had all kinds of fancy moves. We choreographed routines, practiced and practiced, and then put on a performance for our parents. In the summer I was often in the pool. I was also involved in gymnastics a couple years. I guess around junior high my life became mostly about academics. I would like to recapture a sense of happiness with my own body. I would really like to have svelte legs. At least as much as I can with my genetics.

Part of the issue has been that most sports do not appeal to me. But I think I am going to find that I like working out in a gym after-all. I do have a lot of strength in my legs. It appears that I'm going to be able to use that to change their appearance for the better.

I've always thought I might be a good fit with Yoga. I have a very small budget. I have recently started going to your Mon. and Wed. morning yoga class. I love that I don't have to pay additional, beyond membership. Boy, is my body responding!! I started with the Stretching and Balance class and then switched to Yoga. I've only had 2 Yoga sessions. My body has reacted a lot differently to the 2nd. I am wondering how much of that might have to do with the fact that it was the first time I wore proper exercise pants for either class. That is one of the Surprising, Amazing, things I've learned recently. I googled some questions, and read that there is actually a practical reason that exercise pants are skin tight. Although men wear shorts over them, if they wear them at all, and women are socialized not to. I read that exercise pants apply gentle compression to increase blood flow, which helps the wearer get the most from their workout. In the 24 hrs. since yesterday's Yoga class, my legs have been giving me very frequent messages that they want more stretching!! So I make little adjustments to how I'm sitting, or standing. The body is amazing, once awakened, it tells me exactly how it would like me to stretch at each moment.

I had thought that it would be a good plan to go to the gym after Yoga class, because Yoga could be a warm-up for it. But I asked Google how long I should rest in between, and learned that I should Not do that. It could very well be counter productive. If close together, gym should be first. Best on alternate days. I learned about the difference between static, and dynamic stretching. And learned arm circles and leg circles as examples of dynamic stretching to do before the gym. My trainer might have told me these things, but we've just gotten started. She didn't have time to cover all things before she takes a short leave. She'll now be gone for a month. But she gave me the guidance I need to make good use of that time, then we'll pick up where we left off.

I am delighted with Juana, my personal trainer. She is so knowledgeable about what the body needs, and what it responds to. Her expertise is precisely what I need. But, beyond that, she is both professional, and down to earth, and friendly. Associating the Wellness Center in my mind, with her comfortable personality, is a helpful factor. I am so fortunate that she happened to be there the day I walked in the gym to ask what equipment I should focus on for my goals. After speaking with her, I knew that if I paired with her, she could really help me. If I hadn't specifically requested her, I don't think I would have been assigned her, because she has a full client list.

Also, it is welcome that the front desk staff are friendly, and say good morning. It sets the tone for the whole experience.

I just started with Silicon Valley YMCA in Palo Alto. The Yogilates class is wonderful- a great full body stretch and strengthening workout! The Aquafitness class is excellent- perfect for recovering from an injury and using your entire body. Staff and clients are helpful and welcoming.

I like the Senior exercise class but I do think you need more classes for Seniors especially in the afternoons. Before the pandemic there were many more classes. We count!
