Member Testimonials
Meet the exercises I need.
I love Y at Cupertino and really appreciate the facilities and overall experience! I have two small suggestions that could make it even better:
Quiet and phone etiquette in stretching rooms: It would be helpful to have courteous reminder signs asking members to avoid using phones and keep conversations to a minimum in the stretching rooms. Early in the morning, many members appreciate a quiet, peaceful environment to stretch and start their day.
Access to stretching space: There are two rooms available to members. The room next to the entrance has many machines, so it is often difficult to find enough space to lay down a mat. The other room seems better suited for stretching, but it is frequently being used by personal trainers, even when the PT room appears to be available. It would be great if personal trainers could be encouraged to use the designated PT room when available, so members can have reliable access to space for stretching.
Thank you for all you do to make Y at Cupertino a great place to work out. I’m sharing these suggestions in the hope of making an already great experience even better!

Swimming
great class
There are good number of group classes in the morning and evening. I enjoy taking these classes. I recommended YMCA membership to couple of my friends too.
However there is a request to add few group classes in evening on Sat and Sun
Swimming
There are plenty of times available and the coaches are knowledgeable (especially coach Lorenzo) and don’t let one disruptive kid ruin the class for everyone
Noriko’s classes. Nice pace, intentional movement in choreography, lots of energy and fun to participate. Would love to see line dancing a little later in the morning or early afternoon. Have also enjoyed Anna’s Shape class.
Extremely knowledgeable and helpful front desk staff.

I like the relaxed atmosphere and the people are nice .
The facilities are clean
I like the Gym Venture class. It will be perfect if you can bring the gym venture class back, and if you can clean the playground. It's great but very dirty. Thanks.
Its good for beginer swimmers and cost effective
There is a great variety of programs. Something for everyone!
I love the pool and How lap swim is ran. Keeping lane speeds reasonable. I wish some of the life guards were a bit more attentive. Some will completely ignore a slow swimming in the fast lane. Others will promptly move the slower swimmer.
I wish parents were more attentive to the dangers of kicking balls and running through the squat rack when I have 215lbs levitating off the ground.
Perhaps you can remove the balls from the area. A child running into the rack is more predictable than a random ball being kicked. I understand this is a YMCA And children may be present. I’m not saying children should not be allowed however this also requires parents to be a bit more attentive. There is a spectrum. Some are more aware of others.
The pool has no running and filming signs. Perhaps a sign instructing parents to actively watch their children and are responsible for their safety should be placed at the doors at eye level. I have had to ask staff multiple times mid workout to talk to parents and their children.
There is a playground on site, yet parents prefer the outdoor rack area. It’s unfortunate parents treat the outside squat rack as a Children playground. There are few places to do Olympic lifts safely, and the outdoor rack is one of them. It’s also more often than not the only rack available. Meanwhile. The outdoor play park is empty. I know this because when you park you can see no one is in it. I can start my lift in the rack and have kids flood the area as parents sit at the benches on their phones. I have asked parents to watch their children and not kick the ball into the rack while I’m squating. I think many of the members simply do not understand the danger for their children or the person under load.
Ultimately I understand we have to work together and lucky to have such a wonderful facility.
Kids love it.
I have. Ot participated yet. But soon plan to. From what i read , they are exciting and sounds very good
Swim lessons - the frequency per week/ the duration of class / the price for members / the coaches worked good for us

I love the facility. It has so many equipments and options. Very clean and I feel like going all the time.
