Member Testimonials
Well run by friendly , informative staff
I have been a YMCA member for 30 years and have always been 100% satisfied. My children were raised with the YMCA as an integral part of our activities from recreation activities, to swimming lessons to camps. Very wonderful. I would absolutely recommend the YMCA to anyone looking for a recreation or fitness facility.
The one thing I'd like to address is the current condition of cleanliness... the YMCA has also always been well maintained. Following the pandemic, it is abundantly clear that standards have been put to risk. In particular, the general membership change rooms amd shower areas are literally filthy. There is mold , built up grime, holes in the ceramic etc. Very out if character for the YMCA. I recognize that the YMCA has undergone financial strain, yet cleanliness is a major issue. I hope this will be addressed.
Thank you so much for being my space.

TBH i have not explored all the options. I like the facilities although I wish you expanded into areas currently not used, added equipment and made your gym more accessible to the general public in the late afternoon (it is ALWAYS booked).
Let's just say that my family and i (4 members) love this gym for its great location and for the potential it has to be expanded, improve equipment and open up more facilities. As the population of downtown London continues to grow this will certainly become inevitable. Especially if you consider how the gym looks like it could do with a facelift (inside only) when compared to Startech, Stoney Creek and other more modern Ys.
Love the location, fingers crossed that it will turn into a gem in the next few years!! Downtown needs it, help build the community!!
I am so thankful for the programs offered at the Centre Branch through Wellspring! From diagnosis, through treatment, and post recovery, participating in Wellspring's programs at the Y has been a tremendously positive part of my cancer journey. The YMCA staff at the desk are always kind and helpful. The facility is bright. The construction is a mess right now, so accessing the streets around the YMCA is a disaster, but in time that will get easier once again.

It's all good and the central branch has good people who work there. Very helpful and pleasant staff in London
The staff at the "Y" are helpful and very welcoming. The instructor in aquafit was fantastic - organized but lots of fun as she led the group thorugh the exercises. thanks for a good workout and clean facility.

I like the environment of my Y (London Centre Branch) - it feels welcoming, inclusive, friendly and that is the kind of place that is easy to work out in and try new things. And the programs I've participated in are top quality.
The Y for me is about the physical exercise and the social connections. It is a wonderful way to meet a diverse group of people - of all backgrounds and ages. The fitness floor, exercise rooms and the locker rooms are places where I have those conversations begin and friendships formed-- all while tending our health and well being.
I like the friendliness of the staff. The staff at the entrance are always polite and friendly. The cleansliness of the place...especially with COVID. I like the variety. My family has the option to swim while I am in the gym. The gym itself is amazing...there is so much to choose from...free weights, resistance weights, treadmill...the list goes on.
I think the Y is awesome.
"Essential services are those daily services essential to preserving life, health, public services essential to preserving life, health, public safety and basic social functioning." I see the YMCA programs and activities fitting right into this definition. The Y is, in a sense, essential to maintaining physical, mental, and social health. All of the activities and programs are of interest, and my favourite is aqua fit.

The front desk staff are terrific. Doug in particular made me feel very welcome as a Newbie to London.
The “plus” facilities are excellent and gym equipment in the Mens locker area is pretty awesome. Open lane swim hours are excellent. A great experience overall. 10/10
