Something for just about everyone. Plenty of choices. Staff manages areas to accommodate different activities (i.e., pickleball versus basketball,etc.).
I use the walking track and workout room. Like exercising at my own pace.
I love the variety of classes available for the young up to the elder population. The instructors are top notch, always pleasant, eager to help, and assist in any way possible. The facility itself is very clean & sanitary and the front desk staff is always helpful, kind and professional. The only class I'd love to see brought to the Y is a class called hydro cycling done in the pool with water bikes such a great exercise, we had this at the Northeast Y in Louisville, it was such a success they had to buy more bikes. But all in all the Whitaker is a great place to belong to

I love Kids Corner and I wish it had more age options(10-14) (in separate rooms with more structured actives -for free). I think its great that the Y does its part to help the youth

Very diverse programs and activities
I like the group classes but really wish there were more options like barre and Blast of the Day offered in the evenings and weekends. I feel like there are a ton of options for people who don’t have to work during the day. I have really liked the instructors that I have met. They have always made me feel welcomed to their classes.
The YMCA has a variety of programs for all ages. The Y keeps you posted for new programs and special events.

My husband and I just joined the YMCA through the Silver Sneakers Program. We have been exploring the different classes and taking part in beginner’s pickleball. I’m impressed with the variety of classes and programs for different levels of ability. Just in the last few weeks that I’ve been working out, I feel more energized and ready to join in. I’ve meet some really nice people and have enjoyed the socialization as much as the exercise. The facility and staff are great. I didn’t know what I was missing!
