Member Testimonials
I like that the classes I prefer are in the morning. Really like instructors: Andrea, Karin, Cara, Renee and Michele.
Love the classes and seeing familiar faces.
You offer a lot of classes a variety, and good gym equipment.
Please keep at it!” Sanitizing the premises: class rooms the gym and bathrooms daily!!
It would be nice if cleaning crew posts a dog daily telling us the time when they sanitized the area!
That they are included with the membership. There are a wide variety of programs and activities for everyone of all ages.
There are plenty of workout regimens to choose from. I’m particularly pleased with the availability of personal trainers.
Community involvement
Challenges to keep me motivated
Group classes
Trainers are friendly and approachable
Currently I'm only doing YOGA on Tuesday & Thursday mornings.
Both instructors are excellent.
I'm 87 years old and I believe the classes really help me.

I participate in the Silver Sneakers program. I really wish the Sarpy Y would invest in some new equipment for this program. The hand weights are in horrible condition but the bands are filthy.
Please support this program as there are many women & men who love this program. That’s why we continue to come even though the equipment is so bad.
The instructors
The instructors are good with the kids and encourage them to take the next step in their learning. The individual courses get more challenging and they flow easily into the next level.
I love the group water exercise classes. You can tell because I actually get up early on my days off to go to them.
silver sneakers offerings
Have equipment and programs I can use.
There is a great variety of classes.
For me the best is the pool and all the aquatic classes
Silver Sneakers
The best trainers ever
Pros: The staff has always been friendly and helpful. The facility is clean, and the equipment that I need is abundant enough that it has always been available. Parking has never been an issue. Of the locations I've been to, the Sarpy facility has the best arrangement for disabled people.
Cons: They are currently dealing with a water issue in the shower. The locker room and showers for disabled people, while better than other facilities, are still somewhat lacking, and poorly thought out. Many of the Matrix exercise machines appear to suffer from regular errors which require a staff member to reset them before they can be used.
Quite a variety
Staff and equipment!
You have a great variety for all ages and needs.
We feel like a family. Teachers and staff make us feel welcome and cared for.
The instructors, really care and keep track of thier students. You feel l I'm ke you matter by thier actions.
I love Aquacise. Melody does such a great job, is so upbeat and encouraging.
I recently sent an email complaining that the water is too cold. Several of the water aerobics classes have older people, probably many with arthritis. I did some research and the Arthritis Foundation recommends water aerobics water temp 83-88 degrees. I had the lifeguard check one day and it was 79 degrees and I think some days it is colder than that. I never received a replay from the complaint I submitted.
I don't use any of them I like the pool but the hours are a bit wonky because I work during the days when I'd have time to swim an in the mornings when i work out the pool isn't open to everyone it's only open to older people last time I looked.
The equipment at the YMCA in Sarpy County provides the newest equipment. In addition, the friendly staff is ready to help out with any questions or problems.
I like the Dancefit classes the best, I wish they were offered more than once a week in the evenings.
No problems
I play lunch pickup basketball 3x a week. Its a great workout, fun, and I've made new friends in our community that I never would have otherwise.
I enjoy the Silver Sneakers classes.
