Every thing
I like their friendliness and the activities they provid
The facility is very clean. Jasmine at the front desk is super helpful - I'm new and she explained everything. The instructors are regular people that take the time to make your class experience fun, challenging, positive, and wanting to come back. The 9am swim aerobics is just right and the equipment always available. Cardio Drumming is a nice addition.
Two pool
I like the welcoming atmosphere and the decaf coffee. They stop making coffee but the remaining coffee should be available 11 a.m., but the remaining coffee should be available till it runs out so that it's not thrown away. Very nice Farmington YMCA.
The friendly ess of the staff. The variety of classes
Very friendly staff and facilities..
The variety of programs, including the silver sneakers options. I enjoy the session leaders.
The therapeutic heated swimming pool is Heaven and the water aerobics instructor Lisa is THE BEST. Great hours. Nice track above the gymnasium and well equipped weight room and exercise room. Y employees are friendly-what’s not to like?

Friendly and welcoming staff and service
Lift weights.
So many activities for myself and for others. Always greeted with a welcome when I come in the door.
The Farmington Family Y is always clean and well maintained. They regularly change shower curtains, have great activities for every age, and take particular time with Seniors. The Staff is friendly and present, and concerned for the attendees. The Executive Director, Douglas Edwards, is approachable and always willing to help.

The family feel to the place. The swim team!!!!!
Everyone is helpful and welcoming. Classes I attend are well run and fun. Loads of things to do!
I had used the Livonia Y for 5 years, when it closed during Covid, and never opened again, I was lost. Some of the Water Aerobics classes had gone to the Farmington Hills Y, but most quit because of the long drive there.
Well, I realized that my body flexibility had diminished in 3 years, so I went up for a visit, and to sign up for water aerobics classes again. The office staff was instantly eager to help me fill out the application, very helpful to explain it all, had a counter person walk me through all the parts of the Y, to see all the really nice structural improvements that happened last year - from a giant donation from local folks who realized that improvements needed to be made, and gave a HUGE amount to redo many things - the most noticeable improvements are completely new locker rooms, all new lockers, new showers, new walls, benches, sauna, hot tub, EVERYTHING. And the Director - Douglas Edwards - spent time explaining all the upgrades they were able to make, that nobody sees - water and plumbing issues have all been upgraded so repairs are so much easier when they happen.
So - I started at once in the pool, found that the instructors for the pool classes are really nice, talk loud, for folks like me that leave our hearing aids back in the lockers, and are very humorous with their instructions, know everyone's names, and are completely conscious of all the various physical stages we are in, and keep instructing, even as they operate the special lift for handicapped folks to get into and out of the pool. Fantastic Staff !
Oh, did I mention that EVERYONE that I had a question for - responded with a smile, and an appropriate answer? Even the gal who makes sure we remember to check in electronically, with the Y card- everyone seems eager to pass on a smile - like - happy to see you !! Phil C
Courteous staff, clean facility.
Water aerobics instructor and lifeguards are very attractive to those with special needs!
The wide variety of people I meet and work out with
Great challenging HITT Tabata and boot camp style classes, stepper and Zumba, and cycle. Nice weight room. Whirlpool .
Guidelines from Rebecca and I can do my routines rain or shine.
Staff is friendly. There's a lot of programs to choose from. My elderly parents are always able to find assistance in the workout equipment from staff.
The Y has been a staple in the Detroit and suburban areas for a long time. I can always remember when I was younger going to the Y.
Decades later, I still love the Y
Facility appears clean and programs well organized.
Great selection of classes, convenient location, knowledgeable instructors, free if included in your insurance.
Silver sneakers is great

I enjoy the kindness and friendly atmosphere of wonderful people and staff. Everyone cares and wears ready smiles. It is indeed inviting.
The classes were quite large for Silver Sneakers and it was wise to add new classes. I enjoy them 4 days a week. Although the Y is older and not as plush as some, it is the "Personality" of the staff and people attending that makes it great and great it is.
I shared suggestions for a "Senior Cheer-leading Team" to implement. It was well received by Rebecca and it is being looked into. I suggested if we do it, we feature it with the Senior Olympics and have "Uniforms" and a great time presenting. It would be great fun and of course with consideration that these are "Aging Youth"!
It is a wonderful and safe place that always considers the attendee.
Congratulations. May all of us know great health, joy in participation, agility and fulfillment in every walk of life.
