The pool is very clean, it's nice to have the lifeguards for peace of mind, the music is relaxing.
I do wish the stairwells and the hallways would be swept more often, they don't seem clean and often see dirt in the corners of the stairs.

Lifeguards are flexible, if few swimmers on water fitness side , I have been allowed to swim against the double lane lines separating the water fitness people from the lap swimmers.

The Y is a great place for kids to go to try out different sports without a large investment. The also have a top notch swim program, BBD- Birmingham Blue Dolphins.
