Member Testimonials
Mr. W at the Glover afterschool program is engaging, fun, and really cares about the kids. He brings an energy to all of it that is really special. The Y is lucky to have him.
Fantastic facility. Only down fall is signups for programs full up so fast so you just need to stay on top of things. But this is true for most Y’s.
The teachers are compassionate and create loving environments for their students.
PLEASE keep the INFRARED sauna in the women's room!
Very happy with after school care. Would love to see expanded early / before school care offered!
The director and assistant director are super helpful and know all of the kids so well. Our daughter has gone through the toddler, preschool, and TK rooms and has had wonderful, nurturing teachers. We love that she gets to do swim and other sports.
It’s at the school or close by. Open for half days. Ability to sign up for vacation weeks if care is needed.
Clean, convenient, comfortable, well maintained. Everything is perfect keep up the good work.
Spend tons of time, from general workouts to volleyball, to swim lessons, and the big help of the kids club. Love it and so grateful to have it close!
It's a great facility overall. Cost of membership is reasonable. I especially like the the large open work-out rooms on the 2nd floor, equipped with some weights, platforms, and other work-out gear. It's nice to have a non-crowded space for doing exercises.
Wonderful facility with great dance classes!
The squash courts!!!
Classes are great. Fitness floor equipment is terrific. Staff are enthusiastic and helpful. Pool is fantastic.
But the reason I keep my membership at the Y is the infared sauna. It has made a noticeable difference in my inflammation. I add a 20 minute sauna session to every workout that I do.
We love this YMCA and come all the way from Georgetown to get here (~30 min drive).
We have done open bounce house, open gymnastics, kids club, pool, indoor play group, kids yoga, basketball, small pool and water slide. I have had an amazing experience in every area of this YMCA. Thank you to the staff for being so kind, helpful, non-judgmental (since I have 2 kids this is extra extra extra important to me). Sadly, we have not had this same experience in Beverly. I provided feedback and never heard back.
Thank you thank you thank you!
I feel it’s clean, there are very good classes that are multilevel, it’s a comfortable place to be with helpful staff.
Your people are great and uplifting ❤️
Many classes available
Convenient & airy
Lots of options for working out
It's just a great, welcoming place. I particularly enjoy swimming laps in the gorgeous pool, and there a lot of exercise classes, good programs for kids, teens, adults, seniors. I feel very lucky to have the Y in my life!
It's the best YMCA in every aspect, machines, riding, walking, swimming, free weights and lot's of space.
One flaw, a low temp Sauna replaced a good Steam Room.
Quality of classes, great instructors, clean, beautiful facility.
Lots of options for classes
Location has a lot to offer and is very well structured.
Great Place, great equipment, wonderful people and lots of courses to keep me in shape.
A membership is more than a gym. Although I just use the fitness facilities now, my kids did tons of activities through the Y when they were little and I want to keep that programming available for other families. I know my membership supports all of that.
Friendly and clean.
I love the Y and it is great. However I have noticed the family bathrooms and other areas are gross. There is pee on the toilets, toilet paper in the ground, they smell horrible.
One of the fans in the cycle studio has been broken for weeks. I think the remote needs a new battery. I just wish the Y was better cared for
Clean, friendly environment with plenty to do to stay or get into shape. Staff available for questions and help as needed,

I’ve belonged to many gyms/fitness facilities and I can say that the LvO Y truly has a great balance of friendly, talented staff, onsite childcare/daycare, fantastic facilities (from swimming to weightlifting to squash to basketball and tons of aerobics and yoga classes to try) to keep most anyone busy and fit. There is also ample —free—parking. And the member ‘vibe’ is friendly and welcoming. People smile here.
It all adds up to an overall level of satisfaction and enjoyment that keeps me (and quite a few of the members, it seems) coming back for more. It’s also great knowing that, as a not-for-profit (global) organization, the Y “gives back” to the community in ways that most people aren’t aware (check out their website). If you’re not a Y member, and/or you’ve never been, definitely check them out.
