Beautiful facility & good programs offered
I joined the Cape Ann YMCA two months ago and keep questioning myself. Why did it take so long? It's the best decision I've made in a long time.
It's my happy place now. I'm loving all the classes that I'm taking, all the instructors, and the kind and welcoming community of members that I've met. I love it! And, yes, I regularly recommend joining to anyone I can.
Welcoming, clean, with modern up-to-date equipment and friendly staff. Lots of programs available for members. What is there not to like?
Great classes yet missing Monday 8 am barre like class!!!
Weight room is well kept. Most users are nice. You need to get tough on idiots that sit on the machines and text/sleep.
All the outdoor time spent in the woods, ocean and pool.

There is no better way than to start your mornings with Gloucester Y pickleball at 5:30am! The friendly staff, clean facilities, and excellent equipment are all great attributes as well.

The performance camp run by Heidi Dallin is amazing! My girls went for the second year in a row this past summer and had the best time putting on a musical with all the other campers. Heidi is an incredible teacher and so wonderful with the kids. Hopefully this program will expand even more in the future because it's seriously one of a kind!

The Cape Ann Y has wonderful, inspirational teachers! It also has a variety of classes and trainors.

The facility is nearly new, large and always clean. The gym has plenty of workout equipment and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I always enjoy going to my local YMCA!

The variety of programming and facility offerings; the cleanliness and upkeep of the facilities; the professional, courteous and helpful staff; the skill and expertise of trainers and teachers; the magnificent pool! At the Sterling Center in particular, I appreciate the ongoing attention to facility upgrades, most recently the locker rooms and saunas. Also, I am grateful for the diversity of staff and members, the thoughtful services offered to folks of all ages, from infancy to seniors, and to folks of diverse abilities. The Sterling Center is a stellar community organization that serves folks in Essex County very well.
People are very friendly and the quality of instruction is high.
It’s truly the embodiment of community and in this day and age of deep polarization really value this.
The Gloucester Y is Vibrant! What an amazing upgrade to the previous Y in Gloucester. Enjoyed the mix of different classes in the morning that allowed a well balanced workout curriculum through out the week. The instructors are pleasant and motivating. The Strictly Strength class at 9:15 Wednesday and Friday led by Desta was exceptional. Desta has a great way of explaining the exercise, making sure you're using the right muscle group and challenging you when it is safe to do so. Her injection of levity and variety of music selection makes the class fly by. The Y is lucky to have Desta on their staff.
