The PGA Jr. League has been beneficial to my son ,First name removed in many ways. First, he has learned not only how to improve his game , but also important golf etiquette and rules. He has developed a sense of sportsmanship and the joy of being on a team. We notice he is a more confident and comfortable making decisions, like where to aim the ball or which club to use. First name removed has a better understanding of the importance of practice and perseverance. Lastly, he has used different techniques he has seen fellow players use to boost his own game. The opportunity to play with his peers on different courses has really intensified his love for the game. Although golf is a difficult game, the league promotes the idea of fun above all ,which I think is so important.
As a parent, it is wonderful to know that during this very complex and changing time ,the league provided a place for kids to safely socialize and share their passion for golf. In addition, we are extremely grateful to Brian Gaffney, coach Brian Varsey and the Essex Fells Country Club for participating in the PGA Jr. League.
It was a great introduction to competitive golf in a comfortable environment. The team and scramble approach was a good way to foster cooperation in what is typically a very individual sport.

The league at Jumping Brook country club was fun, exciting and a great learning experience for our 13 year old who is looking to play in HS. Louis Hampton, the club pro and coach, did an amazing job at preparing him for the next level. His patience, leadership and coaching made such an impact. New friendships were made and some of the boys even decided to join the club as junior members to stay together when the league was over to practice. I wish I would have found this earlier.
Great way to get your children involved in golf.
Love the format. Love that the golfers teach each other and help each other even while being competitive. It really fosters a great sense of the game and the etiquette while keeping it fun for the kids without the pressure of parents/coaches "coaching" every shot.

We had an awesome experience with Coach Louis Hampton at Jumping Brook CC. Our son was part of his program for the past 3 years with Coach Louis and learned so much about the game of golf. We met a lot of great kids as well as parents. Great family atmosphere, the kids were all very competitive, but at the same time very respectful of one another.
The kids really enjoy Coach Kevin Maciorowski.
