Keeping the kids active
I like that kids have the opportunity to play against each other, which is different than family play.
I think it could be helpful to have some standardized components of the league. This summer (2021), we played at a different site than 2 summers ago (2019). This fall, we will play at a new (3rd) site. (In Summer we play where we have a summer home in a different state). They are all run VERY differently. The first one included high quality weekly instruction. The other two really don’t include any instruction at all. Some programs play against/at other courses, while some leaves are self-contained at a single course. I understand that you have afforded autonomy to clubs to decide what works best for you them. But it makes it harder for a player/consumer to know what to expect without calling I. Advance with many questions .
The first year we played, the qualifications of the coach mattered because he was giving instruction. This summer, there was no real instruction so the “coach” didn’t really even need to be a golf professional. Some of the programs can be very expensive if there is no instruction. This fall, we will pay approx $50 per match to play 9 holes at a course where we can otherwise play for $20.
Relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Coach is great.
Its a great program. Everyone from the coach to the kids to the parents are super nice. My son loves golfing in this program.
The opportunity for the kids to play golf and be part of a team.
It would be even better if the coaches spent more time coaching the kids on how to improve their golf skills.
I love that it's a supportive, non-threatening environment for the kids to learn to play golf and learn the etiquette and rules of the game.

First of all the coach was great! Secondly after our son has been out there on the coarse, he really wants to get out and play more golf, and that’s what everyone wanted out of this program. Also it allowed me to to get out and play some golf, I just haven’t taken the time to do it and this has been good for me as well!

Team play
I like how a coach is on the course with each group during the match. This is a new change since 2019 (we didn’t play in 2020).
My kids love the practice day and match… full of excitement to share their drives/chips:putts when they walk off the course.
Sean is awesome. He's absolutely a professional in the sport and his guidance with the kids is amazing. Watching my daughter fall in love with the sport is pretty amazing.
The coaches were great, my sons loved playing on a real golf course. It was a highlight of their summer.

Our first year of PGA Jr League at Portsmouth CC was incredible. Austin and Todd did an amazing job teaching the kids about everything about golf. Most importantly they taught the kids the importance of having FUN, respecting your teammates and opponents, discussion on honesty and integrity and ALL the values around golf. My daughter First name removed (8 yrs old) couldn't wait to go to the golf course and made many new friends. She now wants to have "golf play dates" with her golf buddies. This is what this program is about: learning to love the game and go out and have fun for LIFE. I can't say enough. What I can say is: THANK YOU to Austin/Todd and the PGA Jr League.

My 12 year old son thoroughly enjoyed his first season. The parity was very good and format was good for all ages. Highly recommend this to any child under 13.
Kids got to play on great courses
For a reasonable price, brings kids/juniors together for a bit of instruction, practice, and friendly competition at some great courses (several private ones).
The coaches were great and provided equal support to all players.
I thought the coaching and format were great. One practice and match per week was good, not too much of a commitment. That allowed me and my son to get out together too (without too much per week). Only bummer is our course doesn’t have the fall league. Thanks
Great opportunity for the kids to learn the game of golf. Great way to introduce the kids to competing in golf. Coaches are very knowledgeable too!
The coach! Also The combination of practices and games and friendships my son is making.
It's a great way to get kids within the same age together to play a sport they like. It also gives them experience playing on other golf courses.
