Coach Nate Lubs creates an environment where kids of any skill level can play together in a stress free setting while learning the game.
The PGA Jr league was put together very nicely. Gave the kids a goal to reach, played at different courses and helped leaning to work a a team.
Love the format. Older kids paired with younger. The three holes for a point. Don’t like when parents don’t follow rules and it’s not enforced.

We really liked our coaches for the Jr. League. They were chill but gave the kids good feedback. We also liked the formats of the games. They were competitive but low key. Additionally, we liked having access to the carts for adults. The price and uniforms were also a good fit.
I think we'd like more opportunities for individual coaching and a narrower age band on the competitions. One game my 4th grader and his second grad friend were competing with a group that had a kid that looked to be upper Jr. High in it. It probably makes more sense to have a 2-4 division, 5-7 division.
We loved it overall though. I'll try to get more friends to join.
I thought the format was great for the kids and it forced them to communicate with their teammates.

It is a great start for young golfers
We have liked the different events like drive, chip and putt. We love league and we really loved the professional/junior Iowa tournament this year. It was all very well organized
The only suggestion I have: my son made it to round two in Des Moines this year with the drive, chip and putt. His grandparents came and they had nowhere to sit. I would suggest having seating for spectators.

It’s learning without so much stress put on the child. She met good teammates to play and learn the game with. Everyone was so nice and encouraging.
Nate Lubs is the best coach in Waterloo IA and makes the program all inclusive and so fun for every age, gender, and skill level.
The PGA Junior League is absolutely phenomenal. I highly recommend it to families all the time. It's organized, competitive while getting kids playing and developing their golf skills. The kids get to play all sorts of different golf courses for a reasonable rate while picking the dates that fit their schedules. Communication is excellent along with awards for the top 2-3 finishers at each event. They also have a points winner at the end of the year so it keeps kids engaged. There isn't a better program out there for our youth.
Awesome value. My son loves golfing and the course is nearby. He golfs everyday during the summer and twice a week in the fall till the course closes. Well worth the cost and he is getting better every week.

My son had a great time on the PGA Jr League. I loved that he met so many new people and his skills from playing improved. He also got to practice his golf etiquette on the golf course that he learned at First Tee
My two sons were able to play competitive golf in an environment that encouraged learning together as a team and understanding the rules with the help of a wonderfully supportive staff. The golf courses were all in excellent condition and the competition format allowed them to really feel like they were competing on every hole. Both my sons also play competitive stroke-play tournaments, and the league was just a really great change of pace for them.
I think it is a great way for Boys and Girls to gain experience in playing golf. It allows them to expand beyond just the fundamentals, and gain actual playing in match settings.
