Great program that is very encouraging to kids of all abilities. This is my daughters 3rd year playing PGA Jr League. She learned a lot playing with some older kids and got better with the instruction given by the golf professionals. John always made things fun incorporating little games and competitions into practices. The ice cream sandwiches after matches were great, especially this year when we encountered lots of adverse weather conditions.
The team format allows these young players to not have so much pressure and build friendships, while also being competitive.

Certainly the program differs between organizers, etc., but it is a great way to introduce golf to younger kids that may not have someone in their life that would otherwise do so.

Our coach is great. Very encouraging and knowledgeable. He creates opportunities for the kids to learn and improve at the weekly practices and fun match play. My daughter has made several close friendships with kids she met on the team but play for different schools. This year, we didn’t get to play very many matches but there weren’t very many other 17U teams in the area to play against.
Very well ran staff is great. Not sure if the format for the 17u to determine a winner. May want reevaluate the format!

The overall program is fantastic. A group opportunity for youth to learn not just the game of golf, but teamwork, sportsmanship, etc.
Jan Kleiman and the Ironwood golf course do an outstanding job of making golf enjoyable for kids. They are top notch when it comes to junior golfers.
We recommend PGA Junior League to everyone we know. Our coach Joel is so good with kids. He keeps the environment fun and light, but is always teaching and well organized. He teaches golf and the etiquette kids need to learn to be on the course. We feel like the value for the cost is wonderful and we have made so many great friends through the program. My son is now 13 and we see old PGA Junior League friends at other golf events all the time!
