Coach Testimonials
With this being my first year with PGA Jr League, it was nice to see the structure and meeting other professionals within the area. Was also a great way to get to be around members, their kids and see kids get to know each other!
PGA Junior League connects the PGA Pro to the local community. IMO its important for the success of the PGA and the industry as a whole that we provide these programs to the junior golf community. I also think PGA Junior League could grow into a Little League type of program and continue to scale up.
PGA Junior League provides a competitive experience that promotes the best qualities that life has to offer: fun, comradery, friendship, respect, courtesy, sportsmanship, integrity, perserverance, and it get kids off their cellphones.
PGA Jr. League is well run by everyone at HQ. I always have a helpful rep at the section level and I've worked a Jr League program in 3 sections; Northern Texas, Metropolitan, and Southern California. Even at the golf pro level, the professionals running their team leagues are well involved and care about the programs.
The best part about the program is the quickness of uniform order fulfillment. The kids love the uniforms too.
Organization, team concept, all stars
I love the friendly format
I love teams for area compete against each other
I love the team concept
I love the uniforms
I love it is a create first step into tournament golf
I love that beginners can participate
I love when the older kids can mentor the younger kids
I love that kids that age out can come back and become volunteer coaches
I like that PGA Jr. League makes golf feel like a team sport while still helping each junior develop individually. The two-person scramble format allows players of different skill levels to contribute, build confidence, learn sportsmanship and experience competition without placing all the pressure on one player.
As a PGA Coach, I especially value the friendships and sense of belonging it creates. Kids practice together, encourage one another and learn that golf can be fun, social and competitive at the same time. Most importantly, PGA Jr. League gives us an opportunity to help young players develop a genuine connection with the game and, hopefully, become golfers for life.
The team concept! It’s great to see the relationships develop between the kids and also their parents.
Boys and girls play a scramble format as a team. They learn strategy and course management by conversing with each other after each shot. The welcoming and inclusive environment breeds good sportsmanship and etiquette. The rules of golf are introduced in a less penalizing manner.
The ability to create programs that work best at my facility.
Great opportunity for kids to begin competitive golf but in a team atmosphere. Kids love the uniforms. Nice to have the parents come and watch and kids seem to have a blast. Love that is gives kids a positive golf experience.
Great way for young beginners to learn a fun competitive format.
It is a great format for all types of junior golfers from beginner to advanced.
It is a good way to grow the game
everything
It's a great way to get juniors and parents introduced to competitve golf.
Scramble makes it possible for experienced and inexperienced to play. I also like the jerseys.
The interaction doesn't stop with the kids; it permeates the family and all of their friends. This gets to the heart of our greatest mission, golf promotion for generations to come.
The way it brings the kids together to work as a team and builds camaraderie and confidence in them. It is great to see the transformation from beginning of the season to the end of it. It is a great experience for the kids and coaches alike.
Great program that creates an avenue for kids to get onto the golf course and play competitive golf
Great program to introduce competition to newer golfers.
The opportunity for juniors to play golf, and at other courses.
What I like most about PGA Jr. League is the environment it creates for kids to fall in love with golf. The team format makes the game fun, social, and welcoming while still giving juniors opportunities to learn, compete, and develop confidence. I especially enjoy watching beginners progress from learning basic skills to playing on the course, competing alongside their teammates, and eventually pursuing opportunities like the NTPGA Junior Tour and Drive, Chip & Putt. PGA Jr. League gives us a pathway to develop golfers, but more importantly, it gives kids a place where they feel like they belong.
I appreciate the program is built around introducing players to the game in a fun and spirted program that makes it enjoyable for participants, parents, and golf professionals. I also appreciate the model used allowing professionals the opportunity to make money for their time involved in executing a program.
Added revenue during downtimes, returning revenue
Really enjoy seeing the children become a team and the friendships that develop throughout the season
It is a great starting point for any junior program. When you sign up you are joining a community of professionals, all with the thought of growing the game through junior golf
