I love the classes offered
Yoga, spinning, exercise classes
I like how clean and well maintained the facility is and the staff is stellar... you could use new lockers though.
Like to occasionally access the pool and sauna areas. Don’t really participate in group exercise.
Truthfully, I use the nationwide feature quite a bit because I travel a lot. That has really helped me stay active while on the road. This has been the best benefit for me.
The front desk is always so kind. Ursula is so sweet and you cannot beat the class that Rosie teachers she is amazing (she kills you)and Laura keep up the good work!
During the long winter months when I am off work, I use the group activities as much
as possible. I probably would not have done this with out my Silver Sneakers membership.
I really think the Y programs hit just about every part of the body that needs slimming,
toning, firming - you name it and the Y can fix it!
I think there is a good balance of classes offered. And times are good too! Need to maintain the AP room, it is so dirty.
Only thing that needs to be addressed is the maintenance of the spin bicycles, they are in horrible shape (straps frayed, seats cracked, fans are filthy and computer monitors broken)
I love Donna's yoga classes. I love Ursula's potluck lunches. I like the friendly staff at the front desk. I like the friendly cleaners, like Tyrone, who always say hello and goodbye. I like how the Man In Charge, who just retired, still is back volunteering at the Y and asking our feedback on what we like and don't like. I like the Pilates teacher- she cares and gives great instruction. I love dynamic teachers like First name removed Flannery. Adrian is an excellent Hip Hop / dance instructor. I like the filtered water fountain on the first floor. I like the free yoga that Leanne organized Tuesdays in the summer at the solstice steps. I love all the down to earth people I meet in my classes.
Always a space and workout areas available very clean
Different activity, very friendly stuff, very nice programs for all ages.
Lots of open swim and lap swim, variety of water exercise classes. Clean locker rooms.
I belong to the Silver Sneakers Program. I like the variety of each day, so I feel I get a well-rounded workout each week. The Instructors are awesome! Each has a different personality, but all are knowledgeable, patient, and engaged. I appreciate that they know most people's names and are very welcoming to new faces.
They are well thought through and the instructions know what they are doing
many to choose from need more beat classes
The " Y " is very well run with a wide variety of things to do , it is clean and kept clean , the people are knowledgable and helpful...............
Convenience
There are enough exercise stations and a large enough space that even when the Y is busy, I can get my light workout in. And it's clean. And the staff is upbeat. And it's family-friendly in all ways. And it's affordable. And it contributes significantly to the community. Way to go, folks!!
The equipment is varied, clean and in good condition. The pool, hot tub and sauna are also nice. I haven't done classes in a while, but used to do Zumba with Gail when I got the opportunity. She is excellent!
I like the variety of activities and that classes are offered up until 8 pm in the evenings.
Hours
i LIKE THE SILVER-SNEAKER PROGRAM BUT THE LAST TME I WAS THERE THE ROOM WAS TOO FULL SO I LEFT.
I like the silver sneakers classes
Everything
Silver sneakers yoga
Diversity, acceptance of all, positive values, family friendly, class offerings, indoor pool, hot tub & sauna
I go there to swim laps and I like that you usually have 4 lanes open for lap swimming, I usually swim a mile and because of abdominal/chest surgery this is about the only exercise that I can do safely. Also, I enjoy the warmer temperature of the water being older.
I like the atmosphere of the Y. All of the people that work at the Lakewood YMCA are helpful and gracious. I've been going to the YMCA since I was a boy (with my father at the Downtown Y), and it has always been a part of my life. I now take my son to the Y, so the tradition continues!
Currently I'm more into the aquatics. I'd like to learn the butterfly stroke. I like the number of lap lanes, ample opportunity to get some laps in.
Family friendly programs for all skill levels!
Nice professional staff members!

Skill of instructors (especially Cindy Moore), diversity of members, range of classes.
