Pickleball
Friendly neighborhood people. Great instructors and staff. Comfortable atmosphere.
Pool
Senior group exercise
The people at front desk are so polite and very helpful!
The gentleman who doe the class for seniors is great!
I love the outdoor pool and especially the shallow water as my neurosurgeon that deals with my bad back told me to walk for 30 minutes in shallow water 3 times a week. The downtown Y hardly ever has lifeguards for their shallow water pool. So I will not go there anymore until the Anderson YMCA closes its pool after the summer.
Now I want to try the water aerobics classes.
Always able to use the equipment I need just need a little more equipment for legs
Available to all and the times are great and staff are friendly
Not familiar with programs enough to comment on
I love the pool!
Nice facility, WiFi connectivity to the North side of the building could be better, and maybe add another treadmill or bring back the all motion machines.
I love the pickleball Monday and Wednesday. My only complaint is the lines on the court could be better
It only takes me 10mi to get there.
I like to go work out on the machines. I go at lease twice a week.
The social environment has beeen very inclusive and no visible friction. I have even used the online classes once or twice. One of the best parts is that I know that it's there if I need it. Also, they seem to exhibit a caring attitude toward the guests both health wise as well as socially.
I love the location, staff, and classes. Only issue, it’s a bit run down.
Seniors exercise classes, socials and meeting other people
Great place to work out and Great activities
Family, community feeling
Everything they offer !!!!
Love the sense of community, and the adaptability at my Y! We have a group who wanted to do an extra day of spin - they were like 'Do It!' This is your Y!! Dont see that many places these days!
Have different programs for Seniors. It's in my neighborhood, easy to get there to keep active
I really enjoy the low impact &balancing class as well as the yoga class from Monday through Thursday.
YMCA MD Anderson is listening to members. As a senior it is nice that yoga was changed to chair yoga for the am. Have asked for a senior basketball group time, but there has been no response. Noticed that there will be boxing for the children. Research has verified that boxing is great for older adults brain stimulation.
Thank you for reserving the precinct bus and scheduling adventures. What a nice way to enjoy, expand one’s knowledge and get to know the members in a relaxing adventure.
M D Anderson thank you for listening and responding.
I like that it is a very warming and considerate place to get all that is required in a place of becoming a better you. Always a place I can go to get a fresh start to all beginnings. Well received.
It’s a great place to meet senior exercise members; and have fellowship with them.
The balance-routines specifically teach seniors from unexpected falls
great programs keep me activities and in shape
I work out there at least five mornings a week. The staff is friendly and helpful and the morning regulars are all wonderful people. My only concerns (if you want to call them that) deal with the physical plant and equipment. I realize the building is almost seventy years old but upgrades on some cardio machines would be helpful. A stairmaster and an upright Precor cycle would be most welcome.
Again, my hats off to the morning staff -- Sylvia, Tom, and Steven -- for being such good folks.
I love this place, they have everything
the feeling of community that comes from the members and the staff. It feels like second nature to walk into MD Anderson Y. It's like the neighborhood cafe!

The YMCA is outdated and has an average selection of exercise machines, but the staff is great, it's close to my house and has everything I need for my morning workout.
Its a bargain for the price I pay and I come every day to work out.
