Only using the treadmill/weight-exercise machine rooms. I go Monday-Wednesday-Friday for 1 1/2 hours. Use the treadmill and the various exercise machines. These sessions have become a very important part of my life. The addition of the Gym program (although I initially was very skeptical) is a good program that I repeat twice each exercise day. I do 5 of the older machines as well.
One caveat - the Gym seems to be nearing capacity limits as machines are getting swamped at time and yet the Y continues to sign up new people for the program.
The Y fitness support is very good and a special shoutout to Ben. The Y fitness area has also been a blessing in getting to know people and making good friends. It is a very positive experience for the body and the spirit
I'm just getting to know the activities in which I want to participate. I enjoy what I have engaged in already. I like the E-Gym at Shadowbend.

I love the body pump class with James he is always so much fun and inspiring I wish he would teach more often this class everyday

I also want to recognize Andrew at the front desk. He’s amazing. Great, great customer service. He answered every single question I had in regard of any kids activities. He’s just great
I love Silver Sneakers. You REALLY need to fix the sound system though! Instructors mic is in and out throughout the entire class! Hard to hear instructions and I'm sure it's distracting for the instructor too
I like the Body Pump, Yoga, and Spin classes; excellent instructors!
I love the egym, water aerobics Tues/Thurs and the hot tub/sauna/womens locker room.
Don't love Monday's WA instructor. She's 'in the water' while instructing so you can't hear or see her actions! Probably won't be back on Mondays.
Love the machines and the balance class. Diane is a great teacher!
My Favorite things about the Shadowbend YMCA are the E-GYM, cleanliness of cardio machines and of course, the best aerobics instructor in The Woodlands, Texas, Debbie!!!
I look forward every MWF for her low impact cardio classes. She’s personable, upbeat and knows how to have fun in her classes.
When I’m not working on T/Th I try to make it to her water class. I would love an evening water class option😄

Line dancing is terrific. I wish it were offered more than once a week.

I love the water walk!! The pool is clean, good temperature. Lifeguards are friendly and very helpful.

Great facility, equipment, and people
The staff are friendly and informed. Instructors are exceptional in every way. The facility is clean.
I attend the cardio combo classes at 8:30 on weekday mornings as well as the 8:30am barre classes (sometimes). Both Debbie & Lisa are very good at making sweating fun and informative. Each class is different -- not the same routine/sequence every time. I especially like incorporating step aerobics in the class. Too bad we don't have an all step class (preferably early in the day)!
Most all the participants are friendly and over time you learn their names (& they learn yours!). No one appears to be into "strutting their stuff" (men nor women) which I especially like. We're all there to work out and do our best to stay/become fit so we can live a healthier life.
