Pleasant relaxed, clean atmosphere and equipment. Staff is always cordial and inviting.
Pool. Need to expand pool lanes and make people aren’t just wading around in lanes for fun in reserved lanes.
Pool and g6m
I Love the Water Zumba classes & now the water exercise classes with Mac Tuesday & Thursday !!
Excellent program choices & trainer options
I love Aqua Zumba. However on Wednesday and Friday it’s to crowded. There are always empty lanes behind us that are not in use yet we cannot spread out. I have been kicked twice and I also kicked someone else. Many people have complained and I have signed a petition someone was sending around. Please pass this along and maybe people could exercise without fear of being kicked. Thank you so much. I love the facility and the cleanliness. Everyone has always been so friendly. Love all the staff
All age groups are planned for
Your instructors are amazing and there is something for everyone. You can do as much or as little as you choose.
Aqua Zumba
The water zumba and exercise classes are great for every age group.
The instructors for all these classes are a wonderful group of women.
An opportunity for the Y's improvement
is to ensure that the instructors with childcare children have enough time to set up for their classes. The current childcare allowance may need to be expanded.
The Y is a family-oriented facility with none of the nonsense you get in other health clubs. Almost everyone who uses the Y in Kingwood is nice. Plus, the facility is beautiful.
Facilities
Cleanliness, kindness, activities.
I like the variety, but I do with you were open to other ideas. I have asked for different activities for adults and children. You don't have a mechanism to suggest, and you don't provide feedback after deciding NOT to add them.
My trainers in all my senior classes are there to help me reach a healthy and safe routine to keep me involved in daily routines at my age All my friends agree with me
Programs are for everyone
Only take water aerobics classes --- would prefer 'regular aerobics: 3 times/week and zumba twice. Would fit my needs more, but I still try to go 5x per week.
variety
Right now, only signed unto do physical workout twice a week.
Would like to do Zumba and swim classes in the future

Great location from my home. Members and employees are pleasant.
As a senior citizen, the Y does an excellent job with classes geared to maintaining our wellness. The added programs offered by outside professionals are an extra nice perk of membership.

The childwatch staff is wonderful especially Ms. Regan and Ms. Alex!
I think the Lake Houston YMCA is the gold standard. They opened in June of 2020 to care for the children of health workers. Children in Mother's Care have not had to wear a mask. The staff and adults had to wear masks. The Y started slowly having classes with space between participants and limiting the number of people in a class. Masks were not required while exercising. Now they have a full class schedule. My husband comes a few days a week to lift weights and sometimes plays Pickle Ball in the gym.
The instructors have many years of experience and are excellent. The Y has the Les Mils (from New Zealand )exercise classes with the Body Pump being the most popular, HIIT, Yoga, Body Combat, Kick Boxing, lap swimming, etc. There are too many classes to list, but a class for everyone and every age.
They have coffee and a seating area in the front for many of us to visit after class. Also, an art class, game day, outings to museums and interesting place organized by Ginger Swallow.
Concerns: I would like to have the Y go back to having the classes 60 min instead of 45 mins.
Also, so many classes are now at the same time which makes it impossible to do 2 classes in a row. I would like some changes in the schedule to make that possible.
Again, the Lake Houston YMCA has been Gold standard during the Pandemic especially following the science and not requiring children under the age of 10 yrs to wear a mask. I am sure they made a positive impact on these children and the community.
My go-to are classes and I love the classes I attend. All the instructors are great! The members as well! My husband also attends the classes and follows up with some muscle specific work on the machines upstairs. The trainer he talked to was most helpful in figuring out what he needed for his particular issues. The Y is a warm and welcoming gym!!
I enjoy that there are clearly defined spaces for equipment and workout rooms, there’s plenty of room and an abundance of machines. I enjoy that there are yoga/Pilate rooms with the right lighting and other large spaces for Zumba, HIIT and cycling. Classes are offered every 1/2 hour or so which means there’s always an opportunity to squeeze a workout in and for every kind of schedule. I also enjoy how nice the childcare center is, there are good hires in the room(s) and it’s spacious for the kids and the there’s an abundance of activities for the kids to enjoy. My kids always love it when they go which gives me peace and comfort while I work out. I also love that there’s an outdoor playground for the kids so they can get exercise at the same time I’m getting exercise. Would love to see the kids playground used more!

Love the classes and child care
