We all like to go to the YMCA, I like to go to the gym to exercise.
There’s lots of variety and things to try and I don’t feel like I can’t just go te.
Good machines and weight equipment. I think the Y has cut too many staff. There seems to be an influx of people who are not aware of basic “gym etiquette “ and there seems to be a reluctance with the staff to explain it to people. Also I have noticed a lowering of standards of what is acceptable to wear in the Y.
I love the menu of programs that we are offered
I use the weight rooms, track and sled.
I am a handball player. I am at the Trotter Y at least twice a week.
I am the "self-appointed" safety and maintenance observer at Trotter, Tellepsen, and Weekley.
I do have a complaint on maintenance that I have reported, but it is not resolved. There is almost always a portable blower in the men's locker room blowing into the toilet/urinal. That would indicate to me that there is a water leak or a ventilation issue. I sent an email to Gloria Guzman on Oct 31st. She was going to look into it. On January 21st I noticed that the second urinal flush valve was leaking every time it was flushed. I sent an email to Leslie Zimmer and it was fixed the next day. The blower continued to show up. Several weeks ago, I saw the person set up the blower and asked him what the purpose was. He said he mops the area around noon every day and the blower dries it. I am not sure why a non-wet area needs to be mopped at noon every day.
We enjoy being members of the Trotter YMCA. We are long term members
