Indoor track
Very friendly staff, I love when Jeanette greets me by name in the mornings, and Sasha is a FANTASTIC trainer and teacher, who knew I would enjoy Bodypump class!
I like the variety of group classes at the Y, the superb instructors for the group classes & the fact that the group classes are at a convenient time for working professionals.
Additionally, the facility is kept very clean, & is well maintained.
I look forward to my group classes at the Y every day.
The downtown Houston YMCA is where I work out, due to the number and variety of weight machines and free weights. I attend twice per week Free parking in the building is a big plus.
Attendants are greatly helpful.
Classes are varied and instructors helpful and fun.
Group exercises and swimming training have given me back good physical fitness and a better mental state.
Very good
Good selection of classes and good teachers 🧑🏫 and
I love this gym, however, whoever the people who work between the hours 10 and 5ish are a bit rude. Maybe that is not their intentiom maybe i am sensitive to tone, but having the one person answer and huff and puff shile asking if it were possible to make a payment over the phone, made me offended.why work at the front desk if you have an attitude?
I will not mention any names, but this interaction was ugly and made me not want to talk to anyone who greets me. Annoying
There is always something to try.

Everyone is so nice. Hours are great
I love your track. I use to be a runner - but now at 83 - I love the walking path. Then to the cycles. My marathon days are over. Pat Last name removed
I needed an alternative to walking outdoors, and love your indoor track!. I'm a new member and glad to know you have great exercise equipment, and many classes and other activities to choose from. Thanks!
The great Les Mills classes and the instructors.
As a 75yo retiree, I have to admit the new parking system with 2.5 hours free parking is one of the best benefits. And it's easy to access and use.
Plenty of classes.Friendly staff and members.
Great variety. A bit concerned about swimming lanes being sacrificed for swim lessons and aerobics.
I love the extensive class selection and friendly trainers and staff.
Absolutely great programs & activities.
Good location.
Wonderful building.
Outstanding personnel.
Some programs are so crowded that one needs to register for classes - and I can understand that - but it is cumbersome and often I don't know whether or not I can go because my husband has dementia and the timing in our lives has become sporadic.
The pool is very good! Front desk staff is very nice!
Great variety of activities, community minded programs
It's good gym
Love the new parking system!
Please do not blast music at the pool! What was supposed to be a relaxing, zen time in the water became an audial irritation. The speaker was way too loud, the sound came out distorted; plus the pool area is an echo chamber, which magnified this cacophony. The music choice was, how should I put it, not to everyone's liking, so please please please do not subject us swimmers to other people's party music preferences. Thank you!
The cleanliness and the people working here are awesome
everything good
I love the Tellepsen Y and go there almost every day. I especially love the pool, the group exercise classes, and the women's gym. Big shout-out to the wonderful lifeguards and group exercise instructors. They're the best! A couple of things I wish could be fixed:
1. The women's sauna. I understand the men's sauna is out of commission, but please please please do not allow men in the women's sauna. Some of the men are extremely sweaty when they come in, and many wear almost nothing. I saw a man there yesterday with only a towel! The men spread their legs and arms out wide, taking up almost a whole bench. They make a lot of women feel very uncomfortable. Last week I saw 3 elderly women wait for nearly an hour to go in the sauna because they didn't want to be in there with nearly naked men.
2. The women's gym. Please extend the hours. On weekdays, I usually go to the Y during my lunch break from 1-2. I'm so disappointed to find the women's gym closed at that time. Can you please keep it open all day? It doesn't require a lot of staff, just one person who usually sits at the desk working on other things.
3. MORE group exercise classes! I know they're hard to staff, but the exercise classes at Tellepsen are so popular, it's hard to find space to work out. I also wish you would enforce the sign-up rule. I often sign up, but find the room is crammed when I get there. I think you need more Body Pump and Yoga classes. Those are always packed.
Thank you for everything!!!!

A Good variety of programs for
everyone.
